Yawn | - |
Often occuring during the beginning of your battle with it, Grin Yawn will stop in place and sweep its head from side to side, fire spewing from its mouth. It is best to move away out of the fire's range, or if possible, move to its back or behind cover to stay safe from the potential Burning Status it can inflict if you receive too much damage.
Coming in close to deal it with melee hits will cause it to snap its jaw shut. Grin Yawn will then walk up to you before trying to snap its jaws around you.
Grin Yawn will momentarily disappear underground. When it does this, it is better to move away from where he disappears, as it will leap out from underground. Receiving this hit will cause you to fall to the ground.
The best way to deal the most damage against Grin Yawns is by attacking its open jaw whenever it does its Fire Breath attacks. Dealing enough damage to its jaw will cause it to lay stunned on the ground, where you can assault its jaws more freely until you can finally defeat it.
To make dealing with its open jaw during Fire Breath attacks easier, use Sclerokinesis to negate the damage you can take from the monster. So long as you pay attention to how much time you have left with its effects, you can safely hack away at Grin Yawn's open maw.
