	The Great Tree On the right side of the room where you encase the Punies in bubbles.
	The Great Tree On top of a pedestal in the room with two paper airplanes. Use Flurrie to remove the vase from the first panel.
	The Great Tree Found in the room under the first wooden panel seen after acquiring the Super Boots. Use Spin Jump to break through.
	The Great Tree Above the lily pads after filling the room with water.

	Glitzville Easily visible right outside the Glitz Pit. Hit the hidden block first in order to get this Shine Sprite.
	Rogueport Sewers Found on the furthest left platform in the west entrance room of B1F.
	Rogueport At the back of the rightmost house. Use Paper Mode to pass through the gap.
	Rogueport On the left of the house with a red roof on the east side of town.
	Rogueport Sewers Found behind the breakable yellow block in the Warp Pipe room.
	Glitz Pit Found on the second floor of the storage room in the Glitzville Arena.

	Rogueport At Admiral Bobbery's back room.
	Rogueport In the backyards of the house across the tall pipe on the west side, accessed from a hole requiring Tube Mode.

	Keelhaul Key On the left of a cliff on your way to Pirate's Grotto.
	Keelhaul Key At the back of a large palm treee found on the right side of the bridge.
	Pirate's Grotto Behind a stalactite over the first wrecked ship.
	Pirate's Grotto Near the top of the cliff.
	Pirate's Grotto On top of the barrels in the room where you find the Grotto Key.
	Pirate's Grotto Found over the water to the right of the wall of spikes. Make use of Koops's Shell Toss to get the Shine Sprite.
	Pirate's Grotto At the area after the wall of spikes.
	Rogueport Found at the end of the path behind the cracked wall left of the store on Rogueport's east side.
	Rogueport Sewers Found on the southern platform beyond the east water area of B1F, accessed with Boat Mode.
	Rogueport Sewers Two can be found in a hidden room accessible with Boat Mode on B2F.

	Excess Express Behind the table in cabin 005, Mario's cabin.
	Excess Express Give Bub the Bob-omb the engineer's autograph to receive a Shine Sprite.
	Riverside Station Found on the steps behind the station.
	Riverside Station Near the top of the unfolding stairs after you hit the numerical switches. Throw Koops at the Shine Sprite to get it.
	Poshley Heights Outside of Poshley Sanctum, found on the right side of the entrance. Access the Shine Sprite by performing a Spring Jump.
	Poshley Sanctum Beyond the painting, on a ledge to the left. Cross the overhead bars.
	Rogueport Sewers Above the pedestal next to where Dazzle is found, accessed with the Spring Jump.
	Rogueport Sewers Can be found in a hidden room accessible with Boat Mode on B2F. You need Spring Jump to get this Shine Sprite.

How to Use Shine Sprites

Used to Upgrade Mario's Party Members at Merlon's House

Shrine Sprites are collectibles used to upgrade Mario's party members. These collectibles are relatively easier to find as they are encased inside translucent blocks.

Upgrading party members lets them learn new moves to use in battle, increase their HP, and increase the damage of their attacks.

Besides Shine Sprites, Star Pieces are the game's other main collectible.

How to Find Merlon's House

1	Go to the east side of Rogueport's Central Square
2	The building seen in the foreground is Merlon's house.
3	Merlon will be found inside.

Needs 3 Shine Sprites Per Upgrade

By bringing three Shine Sprites to Merlon on the east side of Rogueport, you will be able to upgrade an ally by one level.

42 Shine Sprites Needed

Each partner can be upgraded twice, which means you will need a total of 42 Shine Sprites to upgrade all seven.

Bring Merlon the Up Arrow

You will only be able to upgrade your party once until a certain point in the game.

Bring Merlon the Up Arrow after Chapter 5 to upgrade your party members a second time.

You can find the Up Arrow at Hooktail Castle.

Shine Sprites can be used to unlock music tracks of the game that you can listen to. To listen to these tracks, you need to get all Shine Sprites per chapter, as well as offer the Crystal Stars you collect at the Thousand-Year Door in Rogueport Sewers.

Hit Shine Sprite Blocks

Shine Sprites are obtainable by hitting blocks over the course of your playthrough. Don't forget to collect Shine Sprites when you see these blocks!

Use Your Partner's Abilities

Blocks that contain Shine Sprites can sometimes be hidden, requiring you to make use of your partner's abilities.

Finding these blocks and knowing which partner abilities to use would need some careful thinking!
