Merluvlee's hints will tell you details about where to go next, the location of one Star Piece, or Shine Sprite at the cost of some coins.

By paying Merluvlee 10 to 40 coins, depending on your progress in the story, she will tell you specifically where to go next. Note that Goombella can also give you a hint on where to go next, so use Merluvlee's if you cannot really figure it out.

By paying Merluvlee 5 coins, she will tell you the location of one of the remaining Star Pieces. And by paying Merluvlee 10 coins, she will tell you the location of one of the remaining Shine Sprites.

Rogueport Sewers

Merluvlee's house can be found at Rogueport Sewers. You will be able to go to there as early as the Prologue.

To get there, you need to head down the warp pipe in front of Professor Frankly's house. Once down, you need to go to the left room, then enter the door near Dazzle.

In front of Merluvlee's house, you can interact with Dazzle and exchange star pieces for badges, especially the Quick Change badge.
