Chapter 3: Of Glitz and Glory Walkthrough
Seven Wonders | Bandy Andy Description and Explanation |
---|---|
The Sealed Wall | "They say... there's a sealed wall in the minor-league locker room... Some say... the remains of fallen athletes are stored in there..." Refers to the yellow block in the minor-league locker room, which can be destroyed with the Super Hamer |
The Man-Eating Toilet | "They say... in one of the arena's bathrooms, a man-eating toilet lurks... Some say... that anyone who sees this toilet never sees anything again..." Refers to the connected toilets of the major-league locker rooms, which Mario uses as a warp pipe in Chapter 3 |
The Stairs of Mystery | "They say... there's a room in the Glitz Pit with a second floor but no stairs... They say... no one has ever gone upstairs... And some say... that groaning voices sometimes come from that second floor..." Refers to the Glitz Pit storage room with the hidden staircase switch |
The Haunted Boudoir | "They say... that the champion's room is haunted... Some say... if you keep still in the room, you'll hear voices whispering from nowhere. Some even say... the voices are athletes who lost to the champion..." Refers to Grubba's voice carried by the air vent connecting the champion's room and the promoter's office |
The Spooky Ring-Lights | "My friend's friend's friend told me this one... He said... he saw a strange light leaking under the ring doors when no one was there. He couldn't see inside since the doors were locked. I plan to investigate this myself..." Refers to Grubba's machine that he uses in secret |
The Missing Ones | "They say... sometimes fighters disappear for no reason, never to return... Some say... that the very first champion, Prince Mush, was spirited away in this way..." Refers to the fighters that Grubba made disappear |
Grubba and Jolene | "Grubba is a strange one... His body is incredibly toned, even though he's past 60. He must have an exceptional training regimen. Then, there's the matter of Ms. Jolene. They say... she suddenly vanishes at times. Some say... a fighter saw her go into the bathroom and waited for her to come out. But she never did." All is revealed towards the end of Chapter 3 |
The Seven Wonders of the Glitz Pit are seven mysterious rumors about the area and the characters who have worked there. If you talk to Bandy Andy in the hallway outside the locker room, he can tell you all about them.
You disccover the real truth behind each of these seven wonders as you progress through the story.
Participating in a Ranked Match allows Mario to climb through the ranks of the Glitz Pit. Ranked Matches require you to fulfill promoter requests where Mario or his partner will be asked to do something specific. Winning the match while fulfilling this request will allow The Great Gonzales to raise his rank.
After the events of Chapter 3, when you go back to the Glitz Pit, you will have to start back at Rank 20. When Mario asks Jolene about this, she will say she lost Mario's paperwork, which is why he has to start from the bottom again.
Along with Ranked Matches, Mario can also participate in Exhibition Matches against any opponent ranked below him once he's a registered fighter. These matches are straigtforward battles that do not require you to fulfill any promoter request.
This is a good way to rematch enemies you may not have registered in your Tattle Log. You can also use this mode to fight against teams you normally won't get to fight such as the Wings of Night and The Destructors before they leave for good after chapter 3.
Take note that after chapter 3, your rank will be reset to Rank 20, preventing you from challenging anyone in Exhibition Matches until you climb the ranks again.
The Switch remake also allows you to fight ex-champion Prince Mush through an Exhibition Match.
In order to fight him, you first need to complete the Help Wanted! Trouble Quest from Jolene, becoming the Glitz Pit champion again after Chapter 3, and receiving emails from both Jolene and Prince Mush.
If you're a registered fighter and you sleep in one of the locker room beds, you can recover your HP and FP for free. Once you make it to the champion rank and move to the champion's room, the bed there can restore SP in addition to HP and FP.

However, Mario can fight them in Exhibition Matches once they're added into the roster. After Chapter 3, The Destructors will no longer be a part of the Glitz Pit roster.
