Crystal Stars are important collectibles that grant Mario abilities in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (TTYD). Read on to learn where to find Crystal Stars and how to obtain them!
The Diamond Star is the first Crystal Star that Mario will get in The Thousand-Year Door. This star is obtainable after defeating Hooktail and saving Koops' father in Hooktail Castle in Chapter 1
Getting this Star will allow Mario to use Earth Tremor, a piercing move that can all knock out all enemies in the area including invisible ones.
The Emerald Star is the second Crystal Star that Mario will get in The Thousand-Year Door. This star is obtainable after defeating Lord Crump and his Magnus von Grapple robot in The Great Tree in Chapter 2
Getting this Star will allow Mario to use Clock Out, a move that can completely immobilize targets using a large bomb when it explodes.
The Gold Star is the third Crystal Star that Mario will get in The Thousand-Year Door. This star is obtainable after defeating Macho Grubba and saving Joleten in the Glitz Pit in Chapter 3
Getting this Star will allow Mario to use Power Lift, a move that allows you to raise the attack and defense of Mario and your partner for three turns.
Target the corresponding icons to gain increases to attack and defense stats for your party. Poison Mushrooms will slow down your cursor, so watch out!
The Ruby Star is the fourth Crystal Star that Mario will get in The Thousand-Year Door. This star is obtainable after defeating Doopliss and recovering Mario's body in Creepy Steeple in Chapter 4.
Getting this Star will allow Mario to use Art Attack, which is a move that lets you draw circles around as many enemies as possible, dealing damage to enemies that are completely encircled.
The Sapphire Star is the fifth Crystal Star that Mario will get in The Thousand-Year Door. This star is obtainable after defeating Cortez in Pirate's Grotto in Chapter 5.
Getting this Star will allow Mario to use Sweet Feast, a move that restores HP and FP for Mario and his partner.
The Garnet Star is the sixth Crystal Star that Mario will get in The Thousand-Year Door. This star is obtainable from Pennington in Poshley Sanctum in Chapter 6.
Getting this Star will allow Mario to use Showstopper, a move which lets Mario instantly defeat all grounded and aerial enemies when performed with a perfectly timed action command. Showstopper does not work on bosses.
The Crystal Star is the seventh and last Crystal Star that Mario will get in The Thousand-Year Door. This star is obtainable after defeating Lord Crump and his Magnus Von Grapple 2.0 robot at X-Naut Fortress in Chapter 7.
Getting this Star will allow Mario to use Supernova, the most powerful attack that uses Star Power, which also pierces defenses. This attack deals large amounts of damage to all enemies in the area.
The Crystal Stars are the collectibles that the game is centered around as Mario visits locations around the map to collect them. These are seven Crystal Stars to get during the story, with each one granting Mario a special move that he can use in fights.
