Elusive Badge! Quest Objectives | |
---|---|
1 | Use the inn's staircase to go to the second floor of Rogueport Plaza, and meet Ms. Mowz on the roof of Zess T.'s house. |
2 | Go to the top room of Hooktail Castle where you first battled Hooktail. We recommend equipping the First Attack Badge so you can just ignore the enemies along the way. |
3 | Use Madame Flurrie to blow away the middle of the room, revealing a chest. |
4 | Bring the Elusive Badge Back to Ms. Mowz. |
The badge that Ms. Mowz is looking for is hidden inside a chest in the middle of the boss room of Hooktail Castle. Go through the whole castle and up the tower to reach this room.
Swap in Madame Flurrie as your partner once you've reached your destination. Walk to the center of the room, and use Madame Flurrie's ability to blow away the centermost panel of the room. This will reveal a chest containing the badge you're looking for.
Get the badge, and return to Ms. Mowz. She'll reveal that it was actually a game she set up for you! Impressed by your skills, Ms. Mowz will decide to join your party. She'll also give back the Attack FX B badge you got for her.
Elusive Badge! from Ms. Mowz will appear at the Trouble Center once you complete Chapter 4. To activate this request, select it from the bulletin board at the Trouble Center.
The quest must first be accepted from the Trouble Center bulletin board before you can do any of the steps to complete it.
To get to the Trouble Center, you must first get through Gus, the guard blocking the east side of Rogueport. You can either pay him coins every time you need to pass or defeat him in combat. Once Koops joins your party, defeating him becomes much easier.
Once you complete this quest, you automatically get Ms. Mowz in your party. She comes with two moves, Love Slap and Kiss Thief, as well as the ability to sniff out any items nearby. Like Mario's other partners, you can upgrade Ms. Mowz twice by giving Shine Sprites to Merlon, adding two more moves to her movepool.
Ms. Mowz is the only recruitable character that isn't required to progress through the game. The Elusive Badge! side quest is completely optional, so you can miss recruiting Ms. Mowz.
Ms. Mowz will return the Attack FX B badge that you got for her once you complete the Elusive Badge! trouble quest. The Attack FX B badge adds a mouse squeak sound effect to Mario's attacks when equipped.
