| Action Command: Hold the L Stick to the left. Release the L Stick once the bar lines up with the middle and lights up. Stylish Move: Press the A button after hitting the enemy, and press the A button once his back spin starts slowing down. |

Plow through all grounded enemies with a strong shell attack. |
| Action Command: Hold the L Stick to the left to fill the meter. Release the L Stick once the meter is full and a red star appears. Stylish Move: Press the A button once Koops returns beside Mario, and press the A button after he spins about 4 times. |

Cover Mario with a giant shell to increase his defense. |
| Action Command: Press A once the moving bar is in the middle of the gauge and the shell is centered. Stylish Move: Press the A button right before the giant shell hits the ground. |

Shell Slam
(Ultra) 6 FP |
Plow through all grounded enemies while ignoring their Defense stat with this powerful shell attack. |
| Action Command: Tilt the L Stick to the left repeatedly until the meter is full. Stylish Move: Press the A button once Koops returns beside Mario, and press the A button after he spins about 4 times. |
Koops Field Ability
Launch Koops Forward
Mario can launch Koops forward to hit any objects or retrieve dropped items from far away. Press the X button to launch Koops. After launching him, you can keep Koops in place if you hold the X button, and send him back to Mario by releasing it.
How to Get Koops as Partner
Meet in Petalburg During Chapter 1
Koops is a party member that will join Mario's adventure as you progress through the game.
You'll first encounter Koops in Petalburg at the beginning of Chapter 1 but he won't immediately join your team.
You'll first make your way deep inside the Shhwonk Fortress and return to Petalburg, where Koops will join your party. He'll accompany you to save his dad in Hooktail Castle.
