The security code for the businessman's briefcase is “2-6-2-5”. Each digit of the security code can be determined by counting how many chairs are in the houses the businessman has been into.

Security Code... Quest Objectives
1	Head to Glitzville to meet up with the businessman by the hotdog stand.
2	Visit Koops's House at Petalburg to count the chairs inside.
3	Check Madame Flurrie's house at Boggly Woods to see how many chairs are inside.
4	Head to Don Pianta's house at Rogueport to count the chairs inside.
5	Go to Toodles' House at Poshley Heights to check how many chairs are inside, and add the one in her garden as well.
6	Talk to the businessman for a second time to say the answer for each digit of the security code of his briefcase.

How to Get the Security Code for the Briefcase

Some businessman, a Ratooey, needs help with remembering the security code for his briefcase, which has their company's new product inside. He tells Mario the hint for the code would be the number of chairs inside some of the houses.

After revisiting each house and counting all the chairs inside from what the businessman said, you can return to him by the hotdog stand at Glitzville to say the answer for each digit of the code. Hopefully, he can remember it this time.

Security Code... from Businessman will appear at the Trouble Center once you complete Chapter 6. To activate this request, select it from the bulletin board at the Trouble Center.

Accept From Trouble Center on the East Side of Rogueport

The quest must first be accepted from the Trouble Center bulletin board before you can do any of the steps to complete it.

To get to the Trouble Center, you must first get through Gus, the guard blocking the east side of Rogueport. You can either pay him coins every time you need to pass or defeat him in combat. Once Koops joins your party, defeating him becomes much easier.
