Star Power allows Mario and his party to use special moves during battles in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (TTYD). Read on to learn how to charge star power, how to increase star power limit, and what star power is!
List of Contents
One way to charge the Star Power gauge is to Appeal the audience. Using Appeal will get the crowd excited, which in turn gives Mario and his party star power.
Note that using Appeal will consume a turn, so you cannot use any other action command, but remember it as a way to recover Star Power.
Hitting Stylish Moves is another way of charging the Star Power gauge. These can be done by perfectly hitting the appropriate buttons during attacks.
The amount of Star Power you receive depends on the size of the audience. By increasing Mario's level to make the theater larger, you can have more audience members watch the battle and give you more Star Power.
Matching 3 Stars or Shine Sprites during Bingo will fully charge Star Power. However, it's best not to rely too much on Bingo for charging Star Power since it's a matter of luck.
Staying at an inn will fully recover Mario and his party's Star Power along with their HP and FP. This method is the easiest way to charge Star Power, and it's highly recommended to stay at an inn before going into battles.
Using the Trial Stew item will fully recover Mario and his party's Star Power. However, it's not recommended to use the item for recovering Star Power since it reduces HP to 1 and FP to 0.
Upon completing a stage and obtaining a Crystal Star, Mario and his party's Star Power limit will increase and will be able to learn new Special Moves. This will happen naturally as the game progresses, so there is no need for special actions to make.
Star Power allows characters to use Special Moves. These moves can deal great damage to opponents or heal and buff Mario and his party member.
Each Special move consumes a certain amount of dots, which is shown next to its name.
