Valkyrie Gondul Fight Guide

Opening Attack

Attack as she opens her wings with a flurry of Light and Heavy Runic Attacks. Have Atreus launch a salvo of his Runic Summon, preferrably Wrath of the Wolf. While she is incapacitated, rush her and switch to your other weapon and launch all your Runic Attacks on that weapon.

Valkyrie Gondul Attack Patterns

Attack 1

Gondul makes use of the standard Valkyrie attack patterns with her wings – an angular swing, a cyclonic attack, a wing stab, and even the sharp feathers. However, these attacks, apart from the feather strikes, are rarely used. Gondul instead makes use of attacks that take advantage of the wide arena you fight in.

Attack 2

An unblockable strike that causes balls of fire to rain down from the sky in a straight line within the space between you and where she casts this attack from. Move away from these balls, and take care not to dodge into them when Gondul follows up with close in strikes.

Attack 3

An unblockable attack where she rushes up into the air. The ground beneath you will boil in fire, but you must evade twice to avoid her eventual sudden slamming down into the ground where you are.

Attack 4

Similar to Eir's attack where she will swing out her Scythe and wave it around, sending out an unblockable pulse. Have Atreus shoot arrows at her to prevent this.

Attack 5

Again like Eir, Gondul will dash at you for a strike with her mace, followed up by a blockable follow through attack.

Tips and Strategy

Apart from the arena in Niflheim, the arena you fight Gondul is in large enough to maneuver around very freely in. Take advantage of this fact by dodging a lot, particularly since a lot of Gondul's strikes are ranged and unblockable. The few close-in strikes she has are attacks you must dodge, as otherwise they take out large chunks of your health.
