This is a guide on how to beat The Stranger in God of War PS4 (GoW 4). This page will explain its attack patterns, behavior, and tips and strategies on how to deal the most damage you can against it and take minimal damage at the same time.

Soon after defeating Daudi Kaupmandr, follow the path to get back to your home, where the fight will trigger when you enter it. |

Similar to Daudi Kaupmandr, this fight will be more about observing the behavior of The Stranger and learning essential tools in combat such as dodging and parrying.

The Stranger Boss Fight Guide
Opening Attack
The Stranger will not attack you when you begin the fight. You must be the one to strike first with your Leviathan Axe.
The Stranger Attack Patterns
Attack 1
He will send an ice wave at you, indicated by when he raises his fists in the air to strike them down on the ground. Evade this.
Attack 2
An attack he usually does after his wave attack, he will rush you with a punch. Block this, which pushes him away and leaves him vulnerable for an attack. Failing to block his strike will see The Stranger follow up with another punch. The follow up strikes are all strikes you can block.
Attack 3
Occuring in the third phase of the fight, The Stranger will fly straight up into the air and come crashing down on top of you. You can sense when he is going to land by the icy mist that begins to surround you prior to his landing.
Attack 4
An attack that you'll see in future encounters, The Stranger will speed from place to place to confuse you before charging you for a strike. Either dodge this strike or block it.
Tips and Strategy
For this battle, you must pay extreme attention to what The Stranger does. You'll know if an attack is coming when he turns blue, or he begins to move around erratically. This fight will test your skills in both dodging and blocking against fast strikes, so ensure you are prepared to counter his strikes in either way.
