List of Contents
The Foothills region is discovered as part of your journey during The Path to the Mountain quest. This region is located just past the Vanaheim Tower.
The only gateway in the region can only be accessed after obtaining the Magic Chisel and opening the Hidden Chamber of Odin here. You can find it in the room just before the arena.
Sindri's shop in the Foothills is automatically unlocked the first time you enter the region during the Path to the Mountain quest.
Go to the Mountain's base (past the area where you first fought an Ogre) and head left to find the first raven on a rock above Sindri's "Sky Mover".
After completing The Magic Chisel, go back to the Foothills to unlock one of the Hidden Chambers of Odin. Ride the lift to the lower level then before you jump over to the arena, turn around so you're facing the lift and look up to find the raven.
Valkyrie Geirdriful is contained inside the Hidden Chamber of Odin in the Foothills. Find a door locked by a wind trap in the area past Sindri's shop and you will see a narrow tunnel ahead. Go to the end of the tunnel and open the chamber using the Magic Chisel.
The region's Nornir Chest is located west of Sindri's shop. You'll need to have three spinning rune mechanisms show the correct runes to unseal the chest. This Nornir Chest contains a Horn of Blood Mead.
Find the first mechanism behind the chest and hit either paddle until it shows the ᛊ rune.
Run back down the hill and hit the paddles to reveal the ᚦ rune.
Lastly, go right to find the last mechanism shrouded by a scorn pole. Just hit either paddle twice and it should show the inverted ᛒ rune.
This legendary chest is found in the area where you first fought an Ogre, just before the Mountain's base.
Destroy the rock piles by hitting both explosive urns. You will also find a red coffin nearby.
Hit another explosive urn just behind the left scorn pole to destroy it.
Freeze the remaining scorn pole with your axe to reach the legendary chest.
The second and last legendary chest for this region is obtainable after completing The Sickness. Go up the area with the scorn poles past Sindri's shop until you reach a fork with a door locked by a wind trap, where the legendary chest is.
Go back to the where the scorn poles are then freeze the first one so you can pass through. You'll spot Winds of Hel trapped in Hel's bramble above the red coffin.
Grab the winds, run back to the path leading to the locked door, and transfer the winds to the wind trap on your left.
Take the winds back then transfer them to the wind trap on the door to unlock it.
