This is a walkthrough for The Realm of Fog in God of War (2018) for the PS4. Learn more about the objectives of this side quest, where to find the Niflheim Ciphers, and quest rewards.

The Realm of Fog starts after picking up a piece of the Nilfheim Cipher.
There are more than four chests containing the Nilfheim Cipher but only four are required to complete the favor.

| 1 |  Head to the Ruins of the Ancient northwest of the Lake of Nine. |
| 2 |  Jump over the ledge and pick up the treasure map. Note: You can find an optional boss fight with a Soul Devourer in the area. |
| 3 |  Head right and open the chest containing a piece of the Niflheim Cipher. |
| 4 |  Head to the Lookout Tower southeast of the Lake of Nine. |

| 5 |  Defeat the Nightmares that appear. Hit the mechanism on the left side near the cliff wall to deactivate the spikes on the other side of the shore. |
| 6 |  Head down the shore to find a chest blocked by spikes. |
| 7 |  Hit the mechanism to deactivate the spikes on the chest. Open the chest to obtain a piece of the Niflheim Cipher. |
| 8 |  Head to the entrance of The Mason's Channel and dock your boat on the shore next to the rightmost boatman statue. |

| 9 |  Destroy the crystals and climb the ledges. |
| 10 |  Climb to the top and look down to your right to find Shattering Crystals next to the rubble. |
| 11 |  Climb down and open the chest to find a piece of the Niflheim Cipher. |
| 12 |  After reaching the summit in Return to the Summit, you can find a chest containing a piece of the Niflheim Cipher. |

| 13 |  After reaching the two spike hallways on the right chain in A Path to Jotunheim, you can find a chest containing a piece of the Niflheim Cipher at the end of the area. You can also find another Niflheim chest at the end of the left chain's spike hallways. |

| 14 |  After retrieving Mimir's Eye inside the World Serpent during the Jotunheim in Reach quest, turn left from the chest and jump to the nearby platform. Note: This Niflheim Cipher chest is permanently missable once you exit the serpent.Find and open the chest to obtain a piece of the Niflheim Cipher. |

| 15 |  Once you have all four ciphers, head to the Realm Travel Room in Try's Temple. |
