+Spd / -Res

The best IVs for Legendary Xander are +Spd and -Res. Spd helps him achieve follow-up attacks and is assisted by his high Spd stat, Atk/Spd Catch 4, and his exclusive skills.

Legendary Xander's Res is abysmal and cannot be salvaged, even with his damage reduction. It is the bane of choice.

+Spd for a +10 Merge

We recommend +Spd when merging Legendary Xander up to +10. He needs the additional Spd to keep up with the fastest units in the metagame.

How to Use, Explanation

This build allows Legendary Xander to function both on player and enemy phase. Atk Smoke 4 increases his bulk and denies enemy follow-up attacks which greatly improves his survivability. Atk Smoke 3 or a Rouse skill can be used if on a budget.

Legendary Xander is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he/she deals will be equivalent to his/her Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Legendary Xander inherits his father's axe in Ebon Bölverk. It has multiple effects that trigger based on certain conditions.

Legendary Xander receiving 【Null Follow-Up】is huge, since cavalry units are unable to inherit Null Follow-Up 3. They can only receive this effect from other means.

Chivalry grants Canto and Damage Reduction

Legendary Xander's exclusive B skill Chivalry grants him 【Canto (Rem.) +1】, allowing him to maneuver around the battlefield.

It also inflicts Atk/Spd/Def-5 on his foe during combat, and grants him percentage damage reduction equal to half his foe's HP at start of combat, rounded down.

Similar to how he obtains the Null Follow-Up effect from Ebon Bölverk, the damage reduction effect is huge on a cavalry unit like Xander since they cannot inherit the standard damage reduction skills like Spurn 3.

Legendary Xander Weaknesses

Variable performance depending on foe's HP

Legendary Xander is at his best when the enemy is at full HP, activating his Atk/Spd Catch 4 and receiving the maximum 50% damage reduction from Chivalry.

If the foe is weakened, Legendary Xander's performance drops as well. This may lead to him being unable to knock out his foes or get knocked out himself.

Weak to Cavalry Effective Weapons

Legendary Xander takes 1.5x damage from cavalry-effective weapons like Thani or Binding Reginleif, and one blow from this type of weapon is sure to take him/her down. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!
