Groom Zelot is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Groom Zelot Strengths

Stronger with Allies Around—Massive Atk/Def bonuses

Atk/Def Form 3 increases Winter Groom Zelot's Atk/Def by the number of allies within 2 spaces of Zelot. Although the max value of the buff is only +7 Atk/Def, it is still a powerful and convenient buff that is easily triggered. Additionally, it stacks with Love Candelbra+, making Groom Zelot's kit very straightforward and easy to use.

It also has a very similar trigger condition with Love Candelbra+ so as long as you have allies nearby, you can secure a huge +Atk/Def bonus that greatly increases Zelot's damage thanks to Ignis procs.

This makes Groom Zelot a good support unit, alongside his wife, Juno, as their skills can buff your entire team!

Drive Atk 2 also helps with his role as a team buffer.

Groom Zelot Weaknesses

Weak to Cavalry Effective Weapons

Groom Zelot takes 1.5x damage from cavalry-effective weapons like Ridersbane or a Wolf weapon like Rauðrwolf+, and one blow from this type of weapon is sure to take him down. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!
