Recommended IVs

Stat Superboon/Superbane IV Recommendation
HP (19) HP Superbane ★★★☆☆
Atk (27) No Attack IV ★★★★★
Spd (5) Spd Bane ★★★☆☆
Def (11) No Def IV ★★★★☆
Res (3) Res Bane ★★☆☆☆

◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws

See the IV Checker for All Units Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs

When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

Neutral IVs by default!

As a hero obtainable only through Grand Hero Battle, Walhart will always have neutral IVs by default. The only way to access IVs for this unit is through using Trait Fruits.

+Atk/-Res

The best IVs for Walhart are +Atk and -Res. This IV helps add to Walhart's best asset, his high Atk stat. He mainly relies on Atk for offense as his Spd is unreliable offense wise. A +Atk IV ensures he does the most damage as possible per action. His Res is very low and he is not really built to tank magic attacks to begin with so it is safe to take as a bane. Be wary as his Res is a superbane.

+Atk for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Atk IV when merging Walhart to 10. This is for the same reasons as above. If you prefer a more defensive Walhart, you can go for a +Def IV instead.

Walhart Best Weapon Refine

Effect of Walhart's Refined Weapon

Exclusive Weapon Effect from Refining (Special Effect Type)
SP: 400
Might: 16 Range: 1 HP: 3
Grants Def+3. At start of turn, if unit is within 4 spaces of a foe, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+6 for 1 turn. If unit initiates combat or unit is not adjacent to an ally, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+4 during combat.
At start of turn, inflicts Atk/Def-7 on foes within 4 spaces for 1 turn and inflicts status on those foes preventing counterattacks through their next actions.
At start of combat, if foe's HP ≥ 75%, inflicts Atk/Def-5 on foe during combat.
Arena Medal:500 Divine Dew:200

We recommend the Special Effect Refine for Wolf Berg

The special effect refine of Wolf Berg inflicts Atk/Def-7 and the Flash status on foes within 4 spaces of Walhart, and then inflicts an additional Atk/Def-5 on his foe during combat.

Needless to say, this refine is very powerful and the other refine options that only add base stats simply pale in comparison to the special effect refine.

Walhart is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Walhart Strengths

All-stat buff if enemies outnumber allies

Walhart's Wolf Berg grants him +4 Atk/Spd/Def/Res if the number of foes is equal to or more than the number of allies within in an area within Walhart and his target.

If you pay attention to Walhart's positioning in relation to other units, you can indefinitely enjoy this huge buff on him.

Neutralizes Cavalry-Effective Damage

Grani's Shield neutralizes effective damage against Walhart. This means that she will take normal damage from weapons like Ridersbane.

This makes it easier for Walhart to stay in the frontlines and tank physical damage.

Chill Def 3 Lowers Tanky Foes' Def

Chill Def 3 inflicts -7 to the unit with the highest Def in the enemy team. This makes Walhart a great unit to fight against powerful, high-Def stat units such as Legendary Tiki (Young) and Caineghis. Another perk of Chill Def 3 is that it affects them regardless of Walhart's position on the map making it easy for Walhart's teammates to take advantage of it as well.

However, it only affects them until their next action, so the penalty wears off if they are granted another action by support units. The penalty will be re-applied to them the next turn, though.

Walhart Weaknesses

Low Res

Walhart's Res only sits at 16 at Lv.40. This makes it easy for magic users to take him out. Be mindful of Walhart's positioning in relation to magical units that can easily take him out.

Weak to Cavalry Effective Weapons without Grani's Shield

Walhart takes 1.5x damage from cavalry-effective weapons like Ridersbane, and one blow from this type of weapon is sure to take him down. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!

If you stick with his default A skill, Grani's Shield, he will take neutral damage against said foes.
