What Kind of Character Are They? | ・Weapon is effective on armored units ・High Atk/Def stats ・Can increase allies' Def stat |
Might: 16 Range: 1 Effective against armored foes. |

Stat | Superboon/Superbane | IV Recommendation |

HP (19) | ★★★☆☆ | |
Atk (21) | ★★★★★ | |
Spd (6) | ★★☆☆☆ | |
Def (8) | ★★★★☆ | |
Res (4) | ★☆☆☆☆ |
◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws
See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Frederick are +Atk and -Res. A +Atk IV maximizes the damage 1.5x damage multiplier his weapons against armored units. As mainly an offensive unit whose job is to match-up with armored foes, increasing damage is a no-brainer so you should take this IV whenever possible. Spend Trait Fruits if you need to!
His Res is very low and is of less importance so it is safe to take as a bane.
We recommend a +Atk IV when merging Frederick to 10. This is for the same reasons as above. With +10 merges and his special weapon refine, he can take out lots of armored units in one hit!

This build utilizes Frederick's raw damage output to quick take out enemy units before retreating to safety. Since he already has poor speed, Brave Axe+ is a good weapon for him to use.

This build makes use of Frederick's +Eff refine and multiple instances of Death Blow in order to obliterate enemy units, especially if they're armored. He will also be able to hit harder with Lull Spd/Def and debuff enemies with Panic Smoke after combat.

SP: 400 | |
Might: 16 Range: 1 HP: +3 Effective against armored foes. If unit initiates combat, grants Atk+6 during combat. :500 :200 |
|
It is a straightforward upgrade that grants Frederick an effect identical to Death Blow 3. This raw player phase damage allows him to deal huge damage to armored units as the bonus will be effectively +9 Atk against them. Of course, the +6 Atk against any other unit is not negligble.
Be sure to get this upgrade if you need a good match-up against blue armored units like Legendary Tiki (Young) and Effie. Of course Tiki will deal heavy damage to him, so make sure to get to her before she gets to Frederick.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Frederick is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Frederick's Atk and Def are at a base 35 and 36. This makes him a solid match-up to physical units. His Atk stat synergizes well with the default effect and special refine effect of Frederick's Axe as the weapon grants him effective damage to armored units and an effect identical to Death Blow 3! We recommend increasing his Atk and Def further by inheriting skills like Death Blow 4 or Fury 4.
You can also build him around cavalry units that possess skills like Hone Cavalry and Ward Cavalry to further boost his statline.
Frederick's weapon skills Hammer+ and the more powerful Frederick's Axe deals a ton of damage to armored units. Being able to plow through high defense units could be said to be his strength when using these weapons.
His B skill Wings of Mercy 3 will let him warp to any ally with less than 50% HP. Frederick's high mobility is further supplemented by this skill. This makes him very useful in maps like Rival Domains and Grand Conquests where there are lots of allied units spread out in the map.
At the start of every turn, Fortify Def 3 grants +4 Def to adjacent allies. Though we suggest getting a better C skill like Hone Cavalry, know that base Frederick can buff his allies Def using this skill. This might be the difference between victory or defeat in harder battles.
Frederick's Res only sits at 14 at Lv.40. This makes it easy for magic users to take him out. Be mindful of Frederick's positioning in relation to magical units that can easily take him out. Use his high mobility to pick match-ups that are advantageous for him as his Def is around 3x is Res stat. Leave magic units to Frederick's allies so he can focus his firepower on other enemies.
Frederick has very low Spd. This makes him susceptible to follow-up attacks. Despite his high Def, if he is hit by something like a Moonbow-boosted follow-up attack, he can still be taken out if not take huge damage as said special lowers his Def by a percentage.
You can inherit a skill like Quick Riposte 3 to allow him to score follow-up attacks in the enemy phase. Check out the builds section to find out more.
