How to Increase Crit Rate

No Method to Permanently Increase

Unfortunately, as of writing, there are no known direct ways to increase a character's Crit Rate chance. What can be increased instead is Critical Damage, which increases the damage dealt by a certain multiplier should a player score a critical hit.

Players can check their crit rate percentage by going to the Character menu.

Crow's Advancement Gives Increased Crit Rate in Some Conditions

Among all the Simulacra currently in the game, Crow is the only character that directly gains Crit Rate, making him a good choice for DPS players.

By unlocking his first weapon advancement, Thunderblades increases the critical hit rate of Dual Blade attacks by 40% if the attacks land from behind. If the enemy is electrified when attacked from behind, crit damage is boosted by 30% and crit chance is raised to 100%.

Some Equipment May Boost Crit Rate

Another thing to note is that there is equipment that gives a Crit bonus, which is a completely different stat for the player. In-game text indicates it provides an additional crit multiplier when attacking to an enemy of the same level. However, it is not specified as to which crit stat is being boosted.

Equipment such as the Mind Matrices for the weapons, and certain pieces of equipment for the player, might provide more crit rate through the Crit stat.

How to Increase Crit Damage

Crit Damage increases the damage dealt from a regular attack from with a multiplier. The higher the multiplier, the bigger the damage ceiling of the build.

While there are no known ways to directly and permanently increase Crit Rate, there are some ways to increase Crit Damage instead. Through the Crit Stat, these equipment provide an additional boost

Mind Matrices

Among the matrices equippable onto the weapons, the Mind Matrices are the imporant ones when it comes to dealing critical damage. Given how Crit stat works, this provides a flat increase for the Crit stat, allowing the player to deal more damage. The rarer the Matrix equipped to the weapon, the higher the possible bonus will be.

Upgrade Gloves

While the Mind Matrices are reliant on being equipped onto a weapon, the equipment is more universal and permanent. Gloves in particular also provide a flat addition onto Attack and Crit stats, increasing with each level. If players want more damage, it is best to upgrade the Gloves first always, especially if there are better ones found.

What is Crit Rate?

Determines the Frequency of Critical Hits

Crit Rate is the probability of inflicting a critical hit, attacks which deal even more damage than regular attacks. The higher the Crit Rate, the more frequent the possibility of dealing higher damage.

Critical Hits are Shown Differently

The damage of critical hits can be seen through the damage dealt, where its font size is quite bigger compared to regular damage. The damage value is also accompanied by a small explosion mark when it happens, so keep a sharp eye for it.

Who Benefits from Crit Rate?

Theoretically, Simulacra that lean more towards offense and DPS are those who should benefit from having high crit rate to deal massive damage more frequently. Characters like Crow, Samir, King and Nemesis should be characters that can focus on a Crit-based DPS build once there is a solid way to increase Crit Rate.
