Shatter is a weapon's ability that determines how fast you can break enemy shields. Read on to learn more about Shatter in Tower of Fantasy and the best characters for it.

Shatter is a weapon's ability to break enemy shields. The better the Shatter is on a weapons, the faster it'll be able to remove an enemy's shield.

Shatter has no correlation to the amount of damage a weapon deals. Therefore, a weapon will not necessarily break shield fast even if it has a high damage.

Each Weapons Has a Different Shatter Rating

Some weapons break shields faster than others. You can check the Shatter rating and value of your weapon on the Weapon screen (ESC > Weapons).

As of writing, King has the best Shatter ability in the game with an S rating and a value of 12.50. His scythe also deals a ton of damage quickly, which makes him your best bet for beating Treasure Guards and World Bosses.

Rosy Edge (Meryl)

Meryl has the second best Shatter in the game with an S rating and value of 12, which makes her a great shield breaker. However, her attacks are much slower than most because of how heavy her weapon is.

Chakram of the Seas (Shiro)

Shiro's weapon may only have an A rating for Shatter, but her skill, Full Bloom, allows her to break shields pretty quickly. This makes her a great alternative if you can't pull King or Meryl.

Pummeler (Ene)

Ene's Pummeler has the best Shatter among the SR weapons with a rating of S and value of 10. Although you can definitely get better weapons, this one is another great alternate if you can't roll for SSR weapons.

Best Matrices for Shatter

You can also add Matrices to add buffs to your weapons. Here's a list of all Matrices to enhance the Shatter ability:

Shiro	2 Piece Set Effect: Increase both damage and shatter to targets with more than 50% HP by 15%/19%/22.5%/26%. 4 Piece Set Effect: Upon entering battle, gain a 20%/25%/30%/35% damage boost for 35 seconds. Reset 5 seconds after exiting battle.
KING	2 Piece Set Effect: When a target is shattered, grant 8%/10%/12%/14% damage boost for 25 seconds. Only the highest level's effect is applied when obtained repeatedly. 4 Piece Set Effect: When there are more than 2 enemies around, hits restore HP equal to 14%/18%/22%/26% of damage dealt upon attacking. The maximum HP restored every 0.5 seconds must not exceed 36%/42%/48%/54% of ATK.
Robarg	3 Piece Set Effect: When a target is shattered, poison the target and deal damage equal to 45%/56%/67.5% of ATK every second for 10 seconds.

The game rates all weapons into three tiers: S, A, and B. Weapons with an S rating will have the best Shatter, while weapons with a B rating will have the worst.
