List of Contents
The only standard way to obtain the Red Nucleus through non-paid means is to buy it in the shop with Dark Crystals. As Red Nuclei are the only way to roll the Limited Gacha banners, spending Dark Crystals to obtain Red Nuclei is the ticket for free-to-play players hoping to score an SSR in a Limited banner.
Red Nuclei are the premium Gacha Currency, in contrast to the Gold Nucleus and Black Nucleus items, which can be found in abundance throughout the map.
As such, the only way to reliably get a large number of Red Nuclei is to purchase them. If you're looking to roll on a Limited banner seriously, this is far and away the best option, and arguably one of the best choices for how to spend real money in the game.
List of All In-App Purchases and Microtransactions
Rarely, Red Nuclei may be distributed in limited-time Events, such as the Side by Side release event celebrating 4,000,000 pre-registrations.
Round 2 of the Side by Side event gives players 10 Red Nucleus, and can be claimed by going to the Side by Side II tab of the rewards page.
The Red Nucleus is the only item which can be used for the Limited Gacha banners. Either spend away, or save them for the next Limited banner when it appears!
List of Current and Upcoming Banners
The main difference between Gold and Black Nuclei Banners is their Pity System. You can get guaranteed rarity weapons on the Gold Nucleus Banner, while the Black Nucleus doesn't have any guaranteed rolls.
However, both Banners use the same list of characters and weapons you can get. It means you can still get an SSR on the Black Nucleus Banner even if its drop rates are low and there is no pity system.
Category | Differences | |
---|---|---|

The Red Nucleus is the only Gacha Currency you can use in the limited character banner. The only way to get it in the game is to exchange Dark Crystals as of the moment. They might add it to the Advanced Rewards on the Battle Pass in the future, just like in the ToF CN version!
