XP Farming Routes

Best Route - Raincaller Island XP Farming Route

View Full Image

Fast travel to the Spacerift at Raincaller Island and use it as the starting point. Head north at the unmarked stronghold to open the password chest there. Use Perfect Decipher if you still have password keys.

Go around the island in a counter-clockwise position and ignore the enemies as much as possible. If there are enemies near a treasure chest, defeat them first as they can interrupt you when you open the chest. You can also use the Quantum Cloak to avoid the enemies if you have one in your relics menu.

Omnium Beacon XP Farming Route

Placing Omnium Beacons anywhere in the overworld allow you to get as much as 600XP if you use all 180 Vitality. This is a method you can use if you don't like roaming around the area in search for treasure chests.

We recommend placing the beacons in areas where other players can't find them. This does not change the number of XP you gain, but you can get more upgrade materials if no one finds the beacons.

The bottom part of Cetus Island is a good place to hide the Omnium Beacons. You can use the Spacerift on top of the island as the starting point and then climb down to the bottom area.

Focus on Main Missions

Main Line Fight

We recommend that you follow the Main Line of missions. Completing Main Missions not only grant you a lot of EXP and make you level up faster early in the game, but you will also be able to unlock more game features as the story progresses.

Only when you are stuck on a specific mission task or puzzle do we recommend you going for Side Missions instead.

Open Chests in the Open World

Open Chests

When exploring the open world, we recommend you open all the chests that you can find scattered all over the map. When you open chests, you are granted a decent amount of EXP together with some loot.

Password Chests

Password Chests

Password Chests can be opened with a password chip for full EXP, or they can be forced open for only half the EXP. Password chips open chests of the same color. You can collect these chips as rewards for finishing bounties and weekly tasks.

Password chests can be found all over the open world, normally in hidden places, and they give the most EXP out of all the chests.

Should You Use or Save Chips?

Supply Pods

Supply Pods

Supply Pods are chests that hold valuable materials. You can normally find some Nucleus inside that can be used for pulling from the Gacha Banners. Supply Pods can be seen being guarded by enemies. They also give a lot of EXP but not as much as Password Chests.

Rusted Iron Chests

Item Chests

The Rusted Iron Chest is the general type of chest that can also be found in the open world. They are easier to find but grant less EXP when opened.

Defeat World Bosses and Enemies

Defeat World Enemies

You will come across various enemies while exploring the open world, including World Bosses. Defeating World Bosses and other enemies will grant you EXP and loot.

The amount of EXP varies depending on the enemy you defeat. The tougher the enemy, the higher the EXP you will gain. Although smaller enemies grant lesser EXP, they do provide a faster way to find extra EXP when you need it.

AFK Farm in Frontier Clash

Auto Mode Button Frontier Clash

You can perform AFK farming for loot and EXP in the Frontier Clash challenge by enabling your character to automatically attack enemies and finish levels without you having to control them.

This is ideal for players who want to farm for items and raise their Wanderer Level while doing other tasks. The only drawback is that your character rarely dodges attacks, and one wave may take a while to finish unless you join a team.

Steps to AFK Farming in Frontier Clash
1 Enter the queue for Frontier Clash.
2 Select the Assist Mode so you do not waste any of your remaining attempts.
3 Once in the game, activate the giant spacerift.
4 Select the "Auto" button located above your health bar to enable Auto Mode.

Place Omnium Beacons

Tower of Fantasy - Place Omnium Beacons

You can also obtain at least 100K EXP each time you place an Omnium Beacon in the overworld. If you haven't spent your Vitality, you can place at least 6 beacons to obtain a total of 600K EXP every day.

Explore the Open World

Explore the World

Exploring the Open World and interacting with different elements also grant EXP. These elements include opening chests and defeating enemies. This is a more natural way of leveling up and can be done in either a relaxed playthrough or for grinding.

Raid Dungeons and Complete Challenges

Accept Challenges

Raiding Dungeons and completing Challenges such as Training, Bygone Phantasm, Frontier Clash, Void Rifts, and more also grant large amounts of EXP. You can raid dungeons and complete challenges with a team or you can go solo.

Rewards and all kinds of loot can also be gained by players through dungeons and challenges, including materials for better gear and Gacha currencies.

Avoid Getting EXP after the Level Cap

Tower of Fantasy - EXP and Level Limit.png

There is a daily Level Cap that limits the number of times you can level up and complete Main Missions in a day. After hitting this cap, any EXP gained is not saved up, and will simply be wasted.

Try to space out your activities each day and avoid doing side quests which yield a windfall of EXP after you've already hit the cap, then complete them on later days when you haven't hit the cap yet.

Level Caps reset at the Daily Reset Time and you will be able to progress your character level and finish Main Missions again. The Limit also increases each day.
