Mario gains access to Earth Tremor after completing Chapter 1 and getting the Diamond Star from Hooktail Castle. Mario will also gain an additional SP, increasing his SP gauge to 2.

Press A Following the Guide

The Action Command for Earth Tremor requires the player to press the A button following the guide as the meter fills up. For every successfully filled meter, the Diamond Star will get bigger, increasing damage output and the area of effect. The star's size can increase up to 5 times, with the base size only targeting grounded enemies and the biggest size affecting all enemies.
