| Character | Explanation |
|---|---|
Protagonist
・The Protagonist is a mandatory member who excels in almost any setup. ・With the right build they become one of the strongest attackers, but they can also flip into a surprisingly effective support role. |
Saoirse
・Arguably has the strongest supportive Ultimate Technique, especially when paired with high multi-hit attacks. ・Best positioned at the back row as she feels less impactful upfront. |
Reime
・One of the top physical attackers thanks to excellent passives and an ultimate technique with six hits that keeps the damage rolling. |
H'aanit
・An excellent shield breaker when combined with Saoirse’s ultimate. ・Capable of unloading huge damage through multihit attacks. ・She does great with BP support, though her passives can be a little unpredictable. |
Alaune
・Arguably the best healer available, with strong offensive spell options. ・Encourage can help manipulate the turn order. ・She can easily swap roles with Ophilia when you need Revive on demand. |
・Isla is likely the strongest spellcaster in the game, packing incredible passives and solid self-sustain. ・She can also support the team, although her ultimate technique demands SP backup. |
・Sazantos is the best shield breaker thanks to Divine Flame and Phantom Strike, and he can follow up with heavy damage after breaking. ・ Sadly, he’s only a temporary companion unless you clear the true ending. |
・One of the best all-round buffers and debuffers, rivaled only by Primrose and Therion’s passives. Deals serious damage when enemies are enchanted. ・Breaks shields effectively, especially with fans or Saoirse’s ult. |
Alexia
・An early-game powerhouse who deals consistent elemental damage to all foes. ・Excellent SP efficiency thanks to Conserve Magic, letting her stay active in long fights. ・Incidental Analysis reveals enemy weaknesses early, giving her a huge utility edge long before similar skills become available. |
| Character | Explanation |
|---|---|
Stia
・Stia’s ultimate is excellent for BP generation, and her passive helps keep front-liners safe. ・She can donate BP too, though she needs strong action skills to keep pace with higher-tier characters. |
Laurana
・Brings a powerful reraise skill, a helpful passive, and a solid ultimate. ・She still needs good active skills since her HP regeneration alone isn’t enough. |
Ludo
・Ludo is fantastic for farming and his ultimate makes breaking shields much smoother. ・Fierce Rush helps deal damage after breaks. ・His ultimate technique loses value late-game when enemies die instantly. |
Xerc
・Has insane elemental coverage as long as you have the right soulstones. ・His multihit options are limited, so he relies on others to break, but his ultimate still packs six hits! |
Goodwin
・Goodwin is weak upfront but shines in the back row thanks to Vast Energy + Song of Battle. ・He pairs beautifully with heavy attackers like Reime and Sazantos. |
Ophilia
・JP farming powerhouse with one of the strongest ultimates for physical teams. ・She also offers a versatile AoE revive that doesn’t require her ultimate. |
Cyrus
・Cyrus brings strong elemental coverage and can break shields easily when Rechant triggers. ・His ultimate also hits six times. |
Primrose
・Great buffer thanks to The Show Goes On, but she needs active skills to keep up with late-game support competitors. |
Alfyn
・Alfyn’s ultimate is incredible for BP generation, though you can still switch this with Stia’s. ・Has decent supportive options but needs stronger action skills. |
Therion
・Therion excels at Stealing items. ・Great debuffer, especially with Extended Enfeeblement, but again he needs action skills to compete with top debuffers. |
Bargello
・Bargello’s A Step Ahead sets up amazing buffs and debuffs. ・ His damage isn’t that good, so he leans more toward a support role than a pure attacker. |
Richard
・Great buffer with Bolster and his ultimate. ・Can also boost back-row damage while filling his own ult gauge. |
Eltrix
・Reliable tank and buffer, arguably the best tank in the roster, though tanks aren’t top-tier overall. ・Pairs well with fragile back-row characters. |
| Character | Explanation |
|---|---|
Phenn
・Phenn is a strong tank early on with diverse multihit skills and a great exploration passive, Vigorous Victor. |
Viator
・An offensive-leaning tank with good damage options, but he needs support to stay alive. |
Delitia
・Delitia’s ultimate is great for physical teams, but gets outclassed as stronger characters join. |
Heidne
・Excellent for item stealing/farming, especially when paired with a supportive back-row protagonist. |
Solon
・Solon offers solid debuffs and can uncover weaknesses with his ultimate. ・ He also has a chance to stay alive infinitely with Narrow Escape. |
Rondo
・Breaks shields easily against light-weak enemies. ・Augmented Break is one of the best passives, though it’s often better used on someone else. |
| Character | Explanation |
|---|---|
Celsus
・A strong dodge tank who doesn’t need healing, but very self-focused. ・His evasion isn’t as reliable as other tanks. |
Macy
・Early-game support with one standout skill, Expert First Aid, but it falls off hard later. |
Carinda
・One of the weakest characters overall, though Arrow of Fortune is fantastic for JP farming. |
Pius
・His ultimate is amazing, but later characters offer similar effects. ・Sacred Shield is good, but you’re better off with stronger buffers or healers. |
Esperre
・One of the weakest characters. Vivify is the only thing that makes this character special. |
Tressa
・Great for farming money and donating BP, but lacks strong innate combat skills. |
Olberic
・A weaker physical attacker who can randomly die because of Cover. ・His skill Surpassing Power is amazing, but it’s best passed to someone stronger. |
・Offers a flexible kit with buffs and access to both light and slash damage. ・However, her low defensive stats make front-row play risky, which forces her to stay in the back-row just to survive. ・Lacks an Ultimate Technique and is only available as a temporary recruit, limiting her long-term impact. |

>>>4 By end game (meaning before defeating both the true ending and also the final secret boss), the strength of a potential party member is dependent on the unique utility and "fit" that character brings to a larger team play roles. Carinda and Delitia both bring fairly unique skill sets, passives and ultimates that largely cannot be effectively replicated. Looking at the list, I recognize now too that Phenn, Alfyn, and (maybe) Primrose should also be S-teir and Reime is probably not.
