Wealth, Power, and Fame are influences that your character could choose to follow after completing the prologue in Octopath Traveler 0 (Octopath 0). Read on to learn which influence you should choose, and their effects.

Should You Choose Wealth, Power, or Fame?

Ultimately, It Does Not Matter

When you are asked to choose either Wealth, Power, or Fame, you will get an increase on their influence stat, but there are no story consequences for choosing one over the other.

You Can Go Back and Play the Other Questlines

After choosing your initial influence, you will have the chance to go back and play out the questlines of the influences you didn't choose. By completing their questlines, you will also receive a boost on their respective influence stats.

This choice will only affect the starting influence of the protagonist.

Choose Fame For Starting Influence

Entreat Path Action
Fame is the best path to choose since it boosts the success of entreating, which can get you free items from NPCs. This is helpful especially during early game, when you start out with lower stats and limited resources.

Higher Influence Stats Increases Success Rate For Path Actions

Inarticulate Carpenter Path Action

Influence stats affect your path actions. These are actions that take outside of combat with an indicated success rate. The higher your influence stat, the higher your chances of success when you perform path actions.

Wealth Haggling for items, Recruitment
Power Inviting NPCs to your town
Fame Entreating, Recruitment

Each influence is associated with certain path actions:

  • Wealth increases success in recruitment or haggling for items.
  • Power increases success in inviting NPCs to Wishvale.
  • Fame increases success in entreating and recruiting characters into your party.
