Letter fragments can be found all over Orsterra and are used to recruit Alexia and enter the Isle of Sages in Octopath Traveler 0 (Octopath 0). Read on to learn where to get the Letter Fragments and what you can do with them.
Where to Find All 5 Letter Fragments

This is a list of all the Letter Fragments found in the game. Each one of them will appear as a shining blue object in the overworld.
If you chose the Letter Fragment as a Belonging at the start of the game, the one at the Golden Palace will not appear in the overworld.
Fifth Letter Fragment Bug
There is no bug that makes the fifth Letter Fragment unobtainable. If you have not chosen the Letter Fragment as one of your starting belongings, chances are, you may have missed the one in the Golden Palace or have not unlocked the Arena for your town yet.
What to Do With Letter Fragments
Recruit Alexia
The Letter Fragment is required to recruit Alexia to your party. She is found in the library in Theatropolis.
Once you have a Letter Fragment, speak to her. This will unlock the option of using Path Actions on her. Entreat the Liber Magicae Alexiae, and you will have to option to invite her to join your party afterwards.

Obtain the Secret Invitation Key Item
Once you have obtained all of the Letter Fragments, they will combine into the Secret Invitation key item.
Use Secret Invitation to Enter the Isle of Sages
The Isle of Sages will be locked until you have the Secret Invitation. If you interact with the gate, the game will tell you how many Letter Fragments you need to find.
Recuit Isla
After gaining access to the Isle of Sages via the Secret Invitation, players will get to meet the Scholar Isla, and will join your party automatically.
