Defeat the Thieves First
Focus on defeating the two Thieves first, as it will be difficult to focus on Mesara with his two cohorts dealing extra hits to your team per turn. They can also heal themselves up with their lifesteal abilities.
Having the Protagonist take the Priest Job make this task easier as they can also chip Mesara's Shield while also attacking both Thieves.
Note Which Characters Get Debuffed
Try to take note of which characters get hit by Mesara's Physical Defense debuff. If you are hit by Mesara's or any thieves' attack while under the debuff, your character will likely be killed in one hit.

We recommend having Pius and Saoirse in your Party when taking on this boss. Have them use Stalwart Veil and Mole Dance respectively to help mitigate the debuffs set by Mesara.
Pius is a great boon since he can also target the Thieves' Fire and Tome Weakness and is available as soon as you reach Cragspear. Saoirse can keep your Party's health topped up with Dance of Respite.

The Ultimate, Aeber's Artifice is very effective in mitigating Messala's damage and defense. The Physical Attack debuff reduces damage, making it easier for your healers to recover even if you are hit by an AoE Skill.
