Defeat Caits and Octopuffs

Cait

Caits are some of the best EXP sources because they drop large amounts of EXP and Leaves. They appear in dungeons, castles, and routes between towns, though their spawn rate is relatively low.

Octopuffs on the other hand, become available once you obtain the ship, and they can only be found in the sea regions of Orsterra. These enemies offer solid EXP and JP and are only fought while traveling via the ship.

How to Get The Ship

Eat Dishes With EXP Buff

Food Buff Effect
Grape Juice Increases EXP gained by 25% for 20 turns.
Apple Pie Increases EXP gained by 50% for 20 turns
Fruit Tray Increases both JP and EXP gained by 50% for 20 turns.

Dishes with EXP boosts can dramatically speed up grinding, especially when used before a long farming session.

Certain jobs offer skills that raise EXP gained from battles. These skills stack with food buffs and statues, making them ideal when you want to maximize your EXP income.

Blue Cait Statue

If you linked a save file from Octopath Traveler 2, you’ll receive the Blue Cait Statue. Placing it in Wishvale increases the EXP and Leaves gained by your party, but do note that similar statues do not stack, so only one bonus applies at a time.
