You can get animals and raise livestock after progressing through Chapter 2 of Kinders of the Flame in Octopath Traveler 0 (Octopath 0). Find out all the animal locations to get cows, chickens, pigs, and sheep, as well as how to raise livestock and unlock the ranch!

Set Up the Ranch to Assign Livestock

| 1 |  Build a Ranch using 30 Cloth and 15 Lumber. |
| 2 |  Assign a resident to the Ranch. |
| * |  Try to assign people whose Resident Skill is suited for the Ranch. The easiest resident to invite would be the Pushy Farmer located at Theatropolis. |
| 3 |  Talk to the Ranch resident to assign livestock to raise. |
| 4 |  Win battles to increase the yield progress. |
| 5 |  When you have fought enough battles, check back on the Ranch to collect livestock items. |
Livestock Yield Increases With Every Battle Won
The progress bar for livestock yield increases every time you win a battle, so it is better to check back on the ranch after completing other main story quests.

How to Unlock the Ranch
Progress Through Chapter 2 of Kinders of the Flame
You will need to progress through the Kinders of the Flame Chapter 2 questline in order to unlock livestock. You will receive the quest for raising livestock after you have grown tomatoes in the vegetable garden.
