After defeating the final boss, you’ll return to the final dungeon instead of starting a new game plus.
Here, you can pursue the True Ending, which unlocks an entirely new storyline and introduces a final boss far more challenging than the main story.
Endings Guide: How to Get the True Ending

Having all characters recruited is highly recommended before pursuing the True Ending. Each character will participate in the final battle, and missing members can make the encounter significantly harder.
Use this time to finish recruiting anyone you may have skipped during the main story. Completing all character recruitment also allows you to access more interactions and amity rewards.
List of All Characters and How to Recruit Them

The Monster Arena is home to some of the toughest optional bosses in the game, including Reime and Sultravi. They’re also a great way to farm experience and practice team setups for challenging battles like the True Ending boss or Amatsukami No Orochi.

There are a total of 40 Music Scores available for you to find and play at the Museum in Wishvale.
Collecting all of them unlocks the Music Aficionado trophy. Many of the scores are hidden in optional areas or require completing specific events, so thorough exploration is essential.

The Battle-Tested Equipment are the most powerful equipment in the game. They can only be obtained from level 60 NPCs using the Contend Path Action. These NPCs are tough and require high-level characters to defeat.
Collecting all nine Battle-Tested Weapons also unlocks the Battle-Tested Gear trophy. This gear is essential for maximizing damage and effectiveness in post-game battles, including the True Ending and optional superbosses.
All 9 Battle-Tested Equipment Locations

In addition to the Battle-Tested Weapons, there are nine Forbidden Weapons scattered across Orsterra. They are strong in raw power but each comes with significant drawbacks, such as reduced speed, lower accuracy, or negative elemental effects.
Equipping them requires careful planning to maximize their potential without putting your team at unnecessary risk.

The Sacred Treasures are eight legendary weapons obtained after collecting all 8 Crested Keys during your journey. Hidden behind pedestals only unlocked by the Crested Keys, these weapons provide high stats and unique bonus effects.
While not as powerful as Battle-Tested Weapons in some cases, they’re excellent alternatives for players who want variety or missed some Battle-Tested Weapons during their first playthrough.

There are 11 Legendary Treasures in the game, which can be obtained by interacting with specific NPCs via Path Actions, through Trade Lists at Ludo's Shop in Wishvale, or as treasures found inside blue chests.
Collecting all of them unlocks the Treasures of Legend trophy.

The Isle of Sages is a hidden location where all Caits reside. Here, you can recruit Isla, the Cait Scholar, and interact with NPCs via Path Actions for rare loot.
To access the Isle, you need all 5 Letter Fragments, which form the Secret Invitation item required to enter.

Side Stories are optional tasks outside the main story, including helping NPCs, rebuilding the town, or collecting rare items. Completing all Side Quests gives you extra rewards, like items and masteries to strengthen your party.
Some side quests may also unlock hidden equipment or NPC Path Actions, so completing everything ensures you don’t miss any content.

Rebuilding and upgrading Wishvale isn’t necessary to finish the game, but doing so gives great benefits. A fully upgraded town provides stronger party bonuses, unlocks new items, and can even allow recruitment of additional party members.
Town Building Guide: Town Size and Limitations

Every NPC in the game can provide benefits through Path Actions, such as rare items, information, combat assistance, and you can also invite them to your town.
Returning to NPCs you may have skipped ensures you collect all available rewards!
There are 37 trophies in total. To achieve Platinum, you’ll need to finish all collectibles, town upgrades, and perform certain actions during battles.

Amatsukami No Orochi is a hidden superboss that appears only after obtaining the True Ending and defeating Galdera. You’ll find it in the Cove of Clouds, accessible by warping from the Garden of Sin in the final dungeon.
This fight is among the most challenging in the game, requiring the best equipment, best skills equipped, and a well thought of team composition.
