Octopath Traveler 0 Demo Release Date
Available on Multiple Platforms Since November 11, 2025
The Octopath Traveler 0 demo was announced to be available last November 11, 2025. This demo can be played on Steam, Xbox, PS4, and PS5. Nintendo Switch,and the Nintendo Switch 2. Save data from the demo will also be transferable upon full release of the game.

Octopath Traveler 0 has been fully released on December 4, 2025 on all platforms.
Demo Time Limit, Length, and Features
Features the First 3 Hours of the Game
Upon starting up the demo, players will be alloted only 3 hours play from the start of the game. This gives enough time to familiarize yourself with Octopath Traveler 0's world, characters, and main combat system.
Only Chapter 1 Can Be Played
Aside from the 3-hour limit, you can only play until Chapter 1 of the story. This means your access to locations will be limited.
You Can Continue to Play After 3 Hours If You Don't Change Locations
Once 3 hours are up, an end message will pop up on the screen after you move to another location. As long as you stay in the same location, you can continue playing the demo even after the time limit.

Unlike the previous games, in Octopath Traveler 0 you only get to play as your own customizable character during the 3-hour demo. However, you can still recruit other characters. During the demo, you'll have the chance to watch your character's story unfold, and test different classes and actions in combat.
Keep in mind that there is only one save slot, so you will need to overwrite your file if you wish to replay.
Village Building System
The Octopath Traveler 0 demo also introduces a village building system where you can gather materials and use them to construct shops and buildings to develop the town of Wishvale.
How to Download the Demo
PC (Steam)
Go to the Steam store and go to the steam page for Octopath Traveler 0. Scroll down to the section that reads 'OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0 Prologue Demo' and download the demo.
PlayStation
In the PS Store, search for Octopath Traveler 0 Demo and select the separate Prologue Demo page. You can download the demo from here.
Nintendo Switch 1 and 2
Go to the Nintendo eShop on your Nintendo Switch device and go to the store page for Octopath Traveler 0. You can download the demo by pressing the button underneath the pre-order button.
