You can get the Musician's Instrument from the Former Merchant in Shepherds Rock to start building the museum in Octopath Traveler 0 (Octopath 0). Learn where to find it, how to build the Museum, and what you can do once it’s complete!

How to Get the Musician's Instrument
Entreat From the Former Merchant in Shepherds Rock

The Musician's Instrument is one of the required materials for constructing the Museum. Travel to Shepherds Rock in the Highlands Region and look for the Former Merchant inside the house to the left of the fountain.
Use the Entreat Path Action to obtain the item. The success rate is low, so feel free to save and reload to avoid reputation loss.
How to Build the Museum
Upgrade Town to Level 6
The Museum becomes available once your town reaches Level 6. Your town level increases naturally as you progress through the story.
Reaching this level also unlocks construction for other facilities such as the Monster Arena, along with additional building options.

Play Music Scores
Any Music Scores found during your journey can be played here and even set as your background music.
After completing the Museum, a Traveling Composer will give you a Music Score you can immediately use.
View Journals
Once the Museum reaches Level II, you’ll be able to browse various Journal entries you’ve garnered throughout your adventure.
Display Legendary Treasures
At Level III, Legendary Treasures obtained from Crested Key chests and other Antiques or Statues can be displayed here once collected.
