Focus on the Two Mercenaries First
Defeat the two Mercenaries before focusing on the main boss, Captain Tristan. Taking the two out first reduces the number of incoming attacks since they get defeated quicker, making the rest of the fight easier with better HP management.
Quickly Interrupt the "Takes Aim" Boost Mode by Breaking Him
When Captain Tristan takes aim, interrupt the charge by breaking his shield. If you fail to interrupt it, he will unleash a powerful attack that can tear your party apart. Use Boost Attacks or other multiple-hit skills with weapon types he is weak to, such as Repeated Shot and Double Throw, to break his 9 Shield Points total quickly.
Use Healing Grapes for Emergency Heals
Captain Tristan and his Mercenaries deal heavy damage, especially in the odds that they focus on a single party member. Carry Healing Grapes so you can restore 500 HP even if it's not your healer's turn anymore, helping you avoid unnecessary deaths and revives.
