Row Swapping Tips

Switch Characters During Battle

Two Rows of Party Members
Switch characters between the front and back row during battle. Keep in mind that there needs to be someone positioned directly behind a character to swap their places. If there is no one behind a character, you will be unable to place them in the back row, even if there is someone placed in the back row of a different character.

Recover HP and SP From The Back Row

Heal HP and SP in the Back Row
When a party member becomes too greatly injured, or can no longer perform Battle Skills, you can switch them out into the back row where they will recover HP and SP every turn.

Exploit More Enemy Weaknesses With More Characters

Having more characters means you can bring more weapons into battle. If you balance your party correctly, you can always account for every weapon type weakness.

Switch to Front For Extra BP Attacks

Back Row BP
Party members in the back row will still accumulate Boost Points (BP) at the end of every turn. Once the front row has emptied their BP, switch them with their back row counterparts to expend their extra sets of BP, maximizing the amount of damage you can do during a single rotation.
