Differences Between Switch and Switch 2
While the Dragon Quest 2 HD-2D Remake has been announced for the Switch 2, there have been no changes or differences announced between the Switch and Switch 2 versions of the game. However, we can at least expect an image and performance upgrade thanks to the overall upgrades to the Switch 2 console.

Following only the main campaign of Dragon Quest 2, it will take the player roughly 30 hours to beat, especially if players will be visiting all dungeon and town locations during their playthrough. However, this will change in the HD-2D Remake since the game will be heavily updated to meet modern gaming standards.
New Features and Differences
It's speculated that the mysterious girl from the trailers of the remake is the Princess of Cannock, and is possibly a new companion to your party.
While this hasn't been confirmed yet, it's heavily implied from the trailers and it isn't impossible to add a new party member, similar to how the added the Monster Wrangler vocation in the DQ3 HD-2D Remake.
Along with the speculated new party member, other quality-of-life additions will be added like improved graphics and enhanced BGM and SFX, as well as new game features like collectible Mini-Medals and Sparkling Spots.
