Check on the Lonely Stray
Interact with the Lonely Stray Cat when you see it near the Sanctuary.
Follow the Stray to the Sanctuary
The stray cat will give you a frozen fish as thanks to playing with it. After a dialog where you choose to thank the cat or ask it for something else, the quest will be completed. Please note that the dialog does not have any impression points.

Free Pet Cat at the Sanctuary
After you've completed the quest, A Cat's Thanks, you will see the cat inside the sanctuary. Interact with it and it will prompt you to give it a name. You can only give it a name once and it can't be changed afterwards.
You can play with the cat and it will give you small gifts like Carmine Globules.
