What Kind of Character Are They? | ・Refined Holytide Tyrfing grants 【Canto (2)】, 50% damage reduction piercing, bonus damage and damage reduction based on distance travelled, and has a Miracle effect. ・ Heir to Light grants Atk/Spd+6, 【Null Follow-Up】, and movement +1. |
Might: 16 Range: 1 Enables 【Canto (2)】. Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). If unit or foe initates combat after moving to a different space, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+5 to unit during combat and deals damage = number of spaces moved by whoever initiated combat (max 4) x 10% of foes Def (except when dealing damage with area-of-effect Specials), and also, if unit's HP ≥ 25% at start of combat, if unit's HP > 1 and foe would reduce unit's HP to 0, unit survives with 1 HP. (Once per combat. Does not stack with non-Special effects that allow unit to survive with 1 HP if foe's attack would reduce HP to 0.) |
Cooldown Count = 3 Treats foe's Def/Res as if reduced by 50% during combat. |
If unit or foe initiates combat after moving to a different space, grants bonus to unit's Atk/Spd during combat = X + 6 (X = number of spaces moved by whoever initated combat; max 4.) If X ≥ 2, neutralizes unit's penalties to Atk/Spd during combat. |
Inflicts Spd/Def-3 on foe and neutralizes foe's bonuses to Spd/Def (from skills like Fortify, Rally, etc.) during combat. |
At the start of turn, if unit is within 2 spaces, of an ally grants Atk/Spd+6 and 【Null Follow-Up】 to unit for 1 turn and unit can move one extra space. (That turn only. Does not stack.) |
Stat | Superboon/Superbane | IV Recommendation |
---|---|---|
HP (18) | ★★★☆☆ | |
Atk (10) | ★★★★★ | |
Spd (11) | ★★★★★ | |
Def (7) | ★★★★☆ | |
Res (5) | ★☆☆☆☆ |
◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws
See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Brave Seliph are +Spd and -Res. With a 【Null Follow-Up】 effect tied to Heir to Light, boosting Spd improves his already amazing offensive potential and will ensure that he doubles his enemies for the knockout.
His Res is a dump stat and lowering it further will not affect any of his matchups. Thus, it is a safe bane to take.
We recommand a +Spd IV when merging Brave Seliph to +10 for similar reasons above.

This build maximizes Brave Seliph's offenses to deal as much damage as possible. Potent 4 creates a Potent Follow-Up attack to deal additional damage.

This build uses the sustain from Mystic Boost skills to keep Brave Seliph above the Miracle threshold of Holytide Tyrfing. Using this build, ensure that Brave Seliph's HP stat does not go above 68, to keep his Miracle recurring after every combat. If your Brave Seliph's HP is 44 or under, you can opt to use an Atk/Spd Sacred Seal instead of Mystic Boost 3 to improve his combat.
Exclusive Weapon Effect from Refining (Special Effect Type) | |
---|---|
SP: 400 | |
Might: 16 Range: 1 HP: 3 Enables 【Canto (2)】. Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). If unit or foe initiates combat after moving to a different space, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+5 to unit during combat and deals damage = X × 10% of foe's Def (X = number of spaces from start position to end position of whoever initiated combat, max 4; excluding area-of-effect Specials), and also, if unit's HP ≥ 25% at start of combat, unit’s HP > 1, and foe would reduce unit’s HP to 0, unit survives with 1 HP. (Once per combat. Does not stack with non-Special effects that allow unit to survive with 1 HP if foe's attack would reduce HP to 0.) At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, grants bonus to unit's Atk/Spd/Def/Res = 5 + number of foes within 3 rows or 3 columns centered on unit × 2 (max 11), reduces the percentage of foe's non-Special "reduce damage by X%" skills by 50% (excluding area-of-effect Specials), and reduces damage from foe's first attack by X during combat ("first attack" normally means only the first strike; for effects that grant "unit attacks twice," it means the first and second strikes), and reduces damage by X when foe's attack triggers foe Special (X = number of spaces from start position to end position of whoever initiated combat × 3; max 12; excluding area-of-effect Specials), and restores 7 HP to unit after combat. :500 :200 |

Refined Holytide Tyrfing increases the bonus stats given to Brave Seliph up to Atk/Spd/Def/Res+16, grants Brave Seliph 50% damage reduction piercing, up to 12 true damage reduction based on the number of spaces travelled by the unit initiating combat, and 7 HP post-combat healing.
The damage reduction effects are the most important part of this refine, making refined Holytide Tyrfing a better weapon that can compete with modern metagame units.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Brave Seliph is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Brave Seliph's Holytide Tyrfing is a unique weapon that grants bonus damage during combat based on the distance that either Brave Seliph or his foe travelled before combat. It also has 【Canto (2)】 and a Miracle effect tied into it.
As a Cavalry unit with 4 movement, this weapon can deal true damage per hit up to 40% of the foe's Def. Even the sturdiest of units will take a huge dent when taking attacks from Brave Seliph!
When refined, Holytide Tyrfing increases the bonus stats given to Brave Seliph up to Atk/Spd/Def/Res+16, grants Brave Seliph 50% damage reduction piercing, up to 12 true damage reduction based on the number of spaces travelled by the unit initiating combat, and 7 HP post-combat healing.
The damage reduction effects are the most important part of this refine, making refined Holytide Tyrfing a better weapon that can compete with modern metagame units.
Brave Seliph's exclusive C skill Heir to Light is a simple, but powerful C skill that grants Atk/Spd+6, 【Null Follow-Up】, and Movement +1 at the start of turn.
Cavalry units normally do not have access to 【Null Follow-Up】 effects, making Brave Seliph stand out among most of them.
Additionally, the 【Null Follow-Up】 effect greatly improves Brave Seliph's survivability, as his high Spd makes it difficult to double him, and the Miracle effect of Holytide Tyrfing ensures that he survives combat when his HP would be brought down to zero.
Brave Seliph continues the trend of having terrible Res with his base 18 Res stat. He will be completely reliant on his Holytide Tyrfing's effects to survive combat against enemies that deal magic damage.
Brave Seliph takes 1.5x damage from cavalry-effective weapons like Thani or Binding Reginleif, and one blow from this type of weapon is sure to take him/her down. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!
