What Kind of Character Are They? | ・Weapon skill grants a Unity effect, bonus damage, a Null Follow-Up effect, and damage reduction to unit and inflicts visible stat penalties onto unit at the start of each phase. |
Might: 16 Range: 1 Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). At start of player phase or enemy phase, inflicts Spd/Def-7 on unit through unit's next action. At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+5 and bonus to Atk/Spd/Def/Res during combat = current penalty on each of those stats x 2 (example: If unit has -7 penalty to Atk, grants Atk+19, for a net bonus of Atk+12; calculates each stat bonus independently), unit deals damage = total penalties on unit x 1.5 (excluding area-of-effect Specials), neutralizes effects that guarantee foe's follow-up attacks and effects that prevent unit's follow-up attacks, and reduces damage from foe's first attack by 40% during combat ("first attack" normally means only the first strike; for effects that grant "unit attacks twice," it means the first and second strikes), and restores 7 HP to unit after combat. |
Cooldown Count = 3 Treats foe's Def/Res as if reduced by 50% during combat. |
If unit is within 2 spaces of an ally, grants Spd/Def +5 and bonus to Spd/Def during combat = current penalty on each of those stats x 2. (Example: If unit has -7 penalty to Spd, grants Spd+19, for a net bonus of Spd+12.) Calculates each stat bonus independently. |
Enables 【Canto (Rem. +1; Min 2)】. Inflicts Spd/Def-4 on foe during combat and unit deals +7 damage including when dealing damage with a Special triggered before combat. 【Canto (Rem. +1; Min 2)】 After an attack, Assist skill, or structure destruction, unit can move spaces = any movement not already used that turn + 1 (min 2; if unit used a movement skill that warped them, its remaining movement is 2). |

◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws
See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Forde are +Spd and -Res. Forde's Spd is quite high at base 45, and investing into it can help him prevent follow-up attacks against the fastest metagame foes while creating his own follow-up attacks against slower foes.
Forde's Res is a clear dump stat at only base 18 and is a safe bane to take.
We recommend +Spd when merging Forde to +10 to ensure he outspeeds his foes and can both generate and prevent follow-up attacks.

This build uses Forde's base kit synergy with Unity stacking to get a large amount of in-combat stats to defeat his foes. Spd Smoke 4 grants Dodge and improves Forde's survival while also lowering his foe's stats. Spd Smoke 4 can be acquired using Divine Codes.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Forde is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Forde's Wild Wind Sword has a built-in Unity effect and inflicts Spd/Def-7 on Forde at the start of each phase. Stat penalties are beneficial to Forde as his built-in Unity effect grants him significantly more in-combat bonuses as more stat penalties are applied to him.
Wild Wind Sword also grants Forde bonus damage per attack equal to 1.5x the total penalties on Forde and also grants Forde a Null Follow-Up effect, 40% damage reduction on his foe's first attack, and 7 HP post-combat healing.
Wild Wind Sword makes Forde deceptively bulky, using in-combat bonuses to swing combat in his favor and sustaining himself through healing and damage reduction.
Forde takes 1.5x damage from cavalry-effective weapons like Thani or Binding Reginleif, and one blow from this type of weapon will deal significant damage. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!

Enables【Canto (Rem. +1)】. Inflicts Spd/Def-1 on foe during combat. 【Canto (Rem. +1)】 After an attack, Assist skill, or structure destruction, unit can move spaces = any movement not already used that turn + 1. (If unit used a movement skill that warped them, its remaining movement is 0.) (Unit moves according to movement type. Once per turn, cannot attack or assist. Only highest value applied. Does not stack. After moving, if a skill that grants another action would be triggered (like with Galeforce), Canto will trigger again. Unit's base movement has no effect on movement granted. Cannot warp (using skills like Wings of Mercy) a distance greater than unit's remaining movement +1.) |

Forde has Spd/Def Unity and S/D Near Trace 4 as inheritable options.
S/D Near Trace 4 is universally more useful to inherit as it is good on most units that can learn it.
