When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

+Spd / -Res

The best IVs for Merrin are +Spd and -Res. Merrin's Spd is among the highest in the game at base 47, and she can utilize that Spd to create follow-up attacks against her foes and prevent faster foes from creating follow-up attacks against her. Suave Blade's innate Null Follow-Up effect ensures that follow-up attacks are based on a Spd check, which Merrin excels at.

Merrin's Res is her least important stat as with her low HP and Res, she will fall in one round of combat against any decent magical attacker. It can be safely taken as a bane.

+Spd for a +10 merge

We recommend a +Spd IV when merging Merrin up to +10 to maximize her high Spd stat to both create and prevent follow-up attacks with the aid of Suave Blade's Null Follow-Up effect.

Merrin Attack

Merrin's Suave Blade grants her an extra action whenever she uses a movement Assist skill, similar to the unique assists of Chrom variants.

Suave Blade also grants Merrin and one ally 【50% damage reduction piercing】 and 【Bonus Doubler】 whenever either of them use a movement Assist on each other.

In combat, Suave Blade grants Merrin Atk/Spd/Def/Res bonuses equal to 5 plus the number of allies within 3 rows or 3 columns of Merrin (capped at Atk/Spd/Def/Res+14), a Null Follow-Up effect, and damage reduction equal to 3x the number of non-stat 【Bonus】 effects active on Merrin.

Suave Blade allows mobility to be used prior to attacking and influences combat based on 【Bonus】 effects, making Merrin a versatile unit.
