Divine Pulse Cooldown Count = 2 Boost Dmg by 25% of unit's Spd. Reduces damage from foe's next attack by 75%, and unit's next attack deals damage = 20% of unit's Spd. (Resets at the end of combat.)

Atk/Spd Catch 4 At start of combat, if foe's HP=100% or if【Penalty】is active on foe, grants Atk/Spd+7 to unit during combat. At start of combat, if foe's HP=100% and【Penalty】is active on foe, grants an additional Atk/Spd+2 to unit during combat. 【Penalty】 All effects that last "on foe through its next action." Includes penalties inflicted by a skill like Panic or Threaten and negative status effects (preventing counterattacks, restricting movement, or the effects of a skill like Triangle Adept or Guard).

+Spd / -Res

The best IVs for Brave Byleth (F) are +Spd and -Res. With a 【Null Follow-Up】 effect tied to her weapon, boosting her Spd improves her chances of doubling her enemy and preventing them from doubling Byleth herself.

+Atk is also a viable option when opting for a Vantage strategy with Spd Preempt 3, as boosting her Atk with a superboon will create more one-hit KO opportunities.

Both her Def and her Res are viable banes to take due to how less important they are for Byleth to fulfill her role. We opted for -Res simply because Def is a superbane, and Res is not.

+Spd for a +10 Merge

We recommand a +Spd IV when merging Brave Byleth (F) to +10 for similar reasons above. +Atk is also a great option when using a Vantage strategy.

Brave Byleth (F) is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Res stat.

Brave Byleth (F) Strengths

Inner Wellspring accelerates Specials both before and after combat

Brave Byleth (F)'s Inner Wellspring accelerates her Special cooldown and grants a 【Null Follow-Up】 effect and a Time's Pulse effect at the start of turn.

It also grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+5 during combat, and reduces her Special cooldown count by 1 after combat, similar to Special Spiral.

With this weapon, Brave Byleth (F)'s Special is always ready to go before she engages in combat!

Divine Pulse is a quick Special that boosts damage and grants damage reduction

Brave Byleth (F) comes with an exclusive Special in Divine Pulse. It is a 2 charge Special (reduced to 1 charge due to Inner Wellspring).

Divine Pulse boosts Brave Byleth (F)'s damage by 25% of her Spd, reduces damage from her foe's next attack by 75%, and boosts her next attack by 20% of her Spd.

There is a special interaction between Divine Pulse and Deadeye. Divine Pulse's 75% damage reduction is not neutralized by Deadeye, since Divine Pulse is a Special skill.

For example: A Valentine's Chrom dealing 80 damage normally to Brave Byleth would result in the following:

• 80 x 0.25 (75% damage reduction from Divine Pulse) = 20
• 20 x 2 (double damage from Deadeye) = 40
• 40 damage dealt

Brave Byleth (F)'s overall bulk is below average, at 39 HP, 26 Def, and 24 Res. She is completely reliant on the damage reduction of Divine Pulse to survive enemy attacks.

If she gets attacked first before she can trigger Divine Pulse, she is very likely to get knocked out.
