Overwatch 2 features several game modes players can participate in and enjoy their time playing the game. Read on and check our list for all the available game modes, how long each game mode lasts and how to win them.

Control is a game mode in Overwatch 2 where both teams need to capture a point to increase their score. The more players there are in the control point, the faster the percentage accumulates.
To win the game, the winning team must reach a 100 percent score while taking control of the capture point and without any enemies within its proximity.

Escort is a game mode that features a payload that the attacking team needs to stick with to push it through a series of checkpoints and reach the goal.
Meanwhile, the defending team prevents the opposing team from delivering the payload to its final destination until the timer runs out.

Hybrid is a game mode that features both Assault and Escort mechanics, where the attacking team needs to seize a capture point and escort a payload afterward to its final destination to win.
Meanwhile, the defending team has to prevent the opposing team from completing their objectives until the timer runs out.

Goal | Push the barricade the furthest |
Push is a game mode wherein both teams must capture a TS-1 Robot at the center of the map to push their barricade for them.
The game is won once the winning team pushes its barricade at the end of the opposing team's base. If the timer runs out, the team whose barricade traveled the furthest wins the game.

Assault is a game mode where the attacking team needs to seize two capture points to win the game. The defending team must prevent the opposing team from capturing both capture points to avoid losing the game.
It's important to note that Assault is currently unavailable for both Quick Play and Competitive Play but can be accessed through custom games.

Deathmatch is a game mode where players fight each other in a free-for-all to reach the highest points. If the timer runs out, the player that accumulated the highest score within the duration wins the game.

Mystery Heroes is a 5v5 game mode where teams of 5 players fight each other to complete or prevent the objectives. Players cannot manually select their own heroes in this game mode as they are randomly selected.

These game modes can be accessed through the Arcade mode and are cycled through on a daily basis, meaning some of them will be unavailable at times. If you want to play a game mode currently unavailable on the Arcade mode, you can instead find one or create on yourself on the Game Browser under Custom Games.

Capture The Flag is a game mode where players must capture an opposing team's flag and return it to their base to score a point. The game is won once the winning team successfully captures 6 flags or when they have the most flags before the timer ends.

Total Mayhem is a game mode where heroes have increased HP with fast ability cooldowns and ultimate abilities. It's designed to be broken and chaotic, where each hero can throw as much skill as they can against their opponents.
To win the game, the attacking team must complete the objectives within the time limit.

3V3 Elimination is a game mode where two opposing try to eliminate each other to win the round. Players cannot respawn until they or the enemy team has been wiped out for the next round to start. The team that successfully wins 3 rounds before the opposing team wins the game.

Mystery Deathmatch is similar to the normal deathmatch game mode, where 8 players fight each other in a free-for-all format to reach 20 kills. However, in this game mode, you are given a random hero to play at the start or whenever you respawn.

No Limits is a game mode that allows a single team to pick the same hero without restrictions. You only need to complete or prevent the objectives from being achieved to win this game mode.

CTF Blitz is a much faster version of Capture the Flag, where players are tasked to collect 6 flags from their opponent to win. If the timer runs out, the team with the most flags wins the game.

Bounty Hunter is a variation of the Deathmatch game mode where 6 players are matched against each other in a free-for-all to reach 4000 points. A random player is selected to be a target where, if another player kills them, they will be rewarded with extra points, but they will also be tagged as the next target.

Low Gravity is a game mode where the presence of gravity is reduced, causing players to float in the air. To win the game, the attacking team needs to complete all the standard map objectives, while the defending team must prevent them from doing it.

Team Deathmatch is a game mode where two opposing teams fight each other to get the most kills. The first team to reach 30 kills or has the highest kill count before the timer runs out wins the game.
