Paraíso Tips and Strategies

Be Mindful of Flanking Routes

Paraíso features plenty of side streets and open buildings, acting as flanking routes toward teams defending the control point and pushing the payload. Be particularly mindful of heroes like Genji, Reaper, and Sombra on this map, as they can take full advantage of the terrain to strike from unexpected angles.

Utilize Paraíso's Rooftops

Paraíso also features numerous low-rise buildings on the way to the first checkpoint, which both attacking and defending teams can use to their advantage. In particular, sniping heroes like Ashe and area-based damage dealers like Zarya pair well with the vantage points offered by these buildings.

Prepare for Close-Range Firefights

When playing on Paraíso, teams should prepare for close-range firefights as the payload passes through the map's narrow streets and pathways. Consider using Heroes who excel at fighting in tight spaces, like D.Va, Genji, and Reaper, when building a team composition for Paraíso.

Team Explanation

This team excels in both attacking and defending in Paraíso, with its Heroes taking full advantage of the map's tight corridors and numerous vantage points and flanking routes.

  • Winston can rapidly close the gap with key enemy targets and allies in need with Jump Pack. He also excels at continuously wearing down isolated targets and groups of foes with his Tesla Cannon, especially along Paraíso's narrow streets. When securing and defending objectives, Barrier Projector and Primal Rage are great for providing cover, controlling space, and disrupting enemy positioning.
  • Genji can swiftly maneuver through Paraíso's numerous flanking routes with Cyber-Agility and Swift Strike to reach and dispatch key enemy targets. He can also throw Shuriken along the map's narrow streets, laying down suppressive fire and potentially landing lethal headshots. In teamfights around the map's objectives and choke points, Genji can rapidly tear through multiple enemies with Dragonblade and Swift Strike resets.
  • Sojourn provides consistent high damage output with her versatile Railgun, capable of efficiently dealing with snipers and nearby foes, especially when empowered by her Overclock ultimate. Her Power Slide lets her quickly move through enemy sightlines and reach Paraíso's numerous vantage points. For space control and dealing with enemies in the map's choke points, Disruptor Shot provides her with heavy area-based damage that also snares foes.
  • Ana provides excellent single-target healing and supportive fire with her Biotic Rifle, especially with Paraíso's many vantage points. Ana also has strong supportive tools in Biotic Grenade and Sleep Dart, both significantly useful in team fights around objectives. Nano Boost also pairs well with Winston and Sojourn, providing them with increased damage output and survivability.
  • Lúcio provides additional mobility with Speed Boost and Amp It Up, letting them secure the payload and close the gap with crucial enemy targets faster. He also offers ample healing and survivability in team fights with Healing Boost and Sound Barrier. Lúcio's Soundwave is also a great tool for pushing away threats and shoving priority targets into corners to single them out.

Overwatch 2 - Ashe Overwatch 2 - Hanzo Overwatch 2 - Reaper Overwatch 2 - Sombra
Overwatch 2 - Baptiste Overwatch 2 - Brigitte Overwatch 2 - Zenyatta

Alternative Tanks

  • D.Va: D.Va is a potent alternative Tank for attacking and defending teams. Maneuvering around the map with Boosters, she can quickly focus down crucial targets with Micro Missiles and block incoming projectiles with Defense Matrix. Self Destruct can also be a devastating ultimate when used properly along Paraíso's narrow streets and choke points.
  • Orisa: Orisa is an excellent well-rounded Tank for attack and defense. Fortify and Javelin Spin make Orisa incredibly hard to take down, with the latter also capable of blocking projectiles and disrupting enemy positioning. Her Energy Javelin and Terra Surge are strong crowd control skills, especially when used around objectives and along Paraíso's tight corridors.
  • Sigma: For teams that prefer having a barrier, Sigma is a great alternative pick. His Experimental Barrier efficiently covers his team along Paraíso's narrow pathways and he can absorb dangerous projectiles with Kinetic Grasp. Accretion and Gravitic Flux are also powerful disruptive abilities when used from the map's high ground and along choke points.
  • Zarya: Zarya is another well-rounded Tank for attacking and defending teams. Her Barriers efficiently protect her team from heavy firepower and her Particle Cannon lets her turn back the damage absorbed by these barriers, allowing her to hit as hard as Damage Heroes. Her Graviton Surge is also particularly effective for disrupting grouped-up foes around objectives and along Paraíso's narrow streets.

Alternative Damage

  • Ashe: Ashe is an excellent alternative marksman in Paraíso. Reaching the map's vantage points with Coach Gun, she provides heavy burst damage with Viper headshots and Dynamite explosions. Her ultimate, B.O.B., is also effective for contesting objectives while providing high damage output and crowd control.
  • Hanzo: Hanzo is another potent marksman in Paraíso. Using Wall Climb to position himself on the high ground, he can pick off crucial targets with lethal Storm Bow headshots while providing vital enemy information with Sonic Arrow. Dragonstrike is also a devastating ultimate when used near the map's objectives, narrow streets, and choke points.
  • Reaper and Sombra: Reaper and Sombra are great alternative flankers for attacking and defending teams in Paraíso. Reaper can maneuver around the map's high ground and flanking routes with Shadow Step before dealing devastating damage up close with Hellfire Shotguns and Death Blossom. Sombra offers more utility and disruption, moving around unseen with Stealth to disrupt and dispatch key enemy targets with Hack and EMP.

Alternative Supports

  • Baptiste: Baptiste offers potent area-based healing with Biotic Launcher and Regenerative Burst, reliably landing both abilities thanks to Paraíso's cramped terrain. He can also reach the map's numerous vantage points with Exo Boots, also fortify his team's positioning with Immortality Field and Amplification Matrix.
  • Brigitte: Brigitte is an excellent alternative Support for aggressive teams in Paraíso. She can reliably follow and assist Damage Heroes in the frontline with Rocket Flail and Inspire, as well as protect her fellow Support and push away threats with Barrier Shield and Whip Shot. Rally is also a strong ultimate for pushing and defending objectives, allowing Brigitte to move around faster and provide temporary health to her allies.
  • Zenyatta: Zenyatta is another great alternative Support in Paraíso. He offers versatile healing with Orb of Harmony and Transcendence and amplifies damage toward crucial enemy targets with Orb of Discord. His Orbs of Destruction also excel at laying down suppressive fire from Paraíso's high ground and along its narrow corridors, dealing massive damage on critical hits.
