Overwatch 2 servers are currently experiencing a DDoS attack preventing players across the globe from playing the game. Read on to learn why Overwatch 2 servers are currently experiencing problems and how DDoS prevents players from playing the game.

According to a tweet by Mike Ybarra, President of Blizzard Entertainment, players are having trouble connecting to Overwatch 2 servers due to a mass DDoS attack on their servers. This has caused players to disconnect from matches, get kicked out on queues, and errors in connecting to game servers.
At the time of this writing, Blizzard has yet to announce that the issue has been resolved, so players looking forward to playing Overwatch 2 should wait until they fix it to avoid wasting their time queuing only to get booted out.
All Known Bugs and Issues: How to Fix
An update regarding the server issue was made on Twitter with Blizzard representative Aaron Keller stating that progress on servers is being made and that the server has experienced a second DDoS attack.
DDoS, also known as "Distributed Denial-of-Service", is an attack by an individual or a group that aims to wreak havoc on a server by flooding it with traffic to overwhelm it and effectively prevent other players from connecting to the server.
