Overwatch 2 - 0 Players Ahead- How to Fix
Many players have been getting stuck at the loading screen of Overwatch 2 with the message: 0 Players ahead in queue. Read on to find out what this means and how to fix this issue.

0 Players Ahead of You Bug Explained

It is a Visual Glitch

No, it is not that you got to the front of the queue and were then being abandoned by Blizzard. It also is not the case that you're being pushed back and forward into different queues.

What is most likely happening here is Overwatch 2's servers are experiencing a higher amount of traffic than they are designed to handle. This causes the game to miscalculate or outright fail to initialize calculating the size of the queue, among other issues.

0 Players Visual Glitch Explained and Rectified by Blizzard

In their latest update to the Overwatch 2 Known Issues Bug Report, the 0 players ahead of you in queue, as well as the fluctuating numbers glitch were detailed. They explained that there are in fact 2 queues, a client queue and an in game queue.

Normally the client queue isn't visible to players, but the extra pressure from the large number of players on release day as well as 2 DDOS attacks, caused the server to be overloaded and display this to the players. They have reportedly since rectified this issue.

Possible Bug Fixes

While this particular issue has reportedly been rectified by Blizzard, you can follow these steps for the best chance of fixing any other server or network connection related issues:

  • First try the classic power off, power on, reset on your PC/console
  • Next ascertain that it is not a local network related issue by disconnecting and reconnecting your modem at the power source
  • You should then try disconnecting and reconnecting your battle.net account to your console if you are a console player
  • If all of the above steps failed its probably safe to assume its a server side issue, in which case you will have to try your luck in the queue as many times as it takes to get in
