Upcoming Heroes and Release Dates

New Heroes in December and in 2023

As per the Overwatch 2 Dev Roadmap, not only do they plan to release new content with each season, but also release new heroes. The first on the roster seems to be a Tank Hero. No other info has been given so far, but we can expect to hear more about them closer to December.

In addition to that, it looks like they're planning to release a number of new heroes in the next year too!

Mauga Possibly Released in 2023

Mauga is a character introduced in the short story, What You Left Behind, featuring Baptiste. He and Baptiste worked in Talon together before Winston recalled Overwatch.

They worked together for a time in What You Left Behind, but after Baptiste had double crossed him, Mauga was left to the ruins of their firefight.

While Mauga was originally meant to be one of the heroes on the Overwatch roster as a Tank, it was later decided his kit didn't match him and he was put aside for future development.

At present, 3 new heroes have been introduced to Overwatch 2 as part of the October release!

The first was Sojourn, a cybernetic soldier who takes the role of Damage. Second, is Junker Queen, the fighter queen of Junkertown who plays a Tank. The last is Kiriko, a Support hero and protector of her city, who wields the power of her kunai and the Fox spirit.
