How to Get CP

Competitive Points are a type of currency earned by playing in competitive matches in Overwatch 2. Read on to learn how to get them, how to check your current credits, and what they can be used on!

How to Get Competititve Points

Play Competitive/Ranked Matches

Unlike Overwatch Coins which can be purchased, Competitive Points can only be earned by ranking up in competitive mode or through a win or draw in competitive matches.

All points you earn should be credited to your account immediately after acquiring them and can be used to purchase the Golden Gun for each hero.

How to Earn Competititve Points

Play multiple ranked games to earn Competitive Points, each rank and win or draw will give you a certain amount of points.

Note that Competitive Points (CP) are rewarded separately for each role's skill tier.

Open the Heroes menu and select a Hero

On the upper right side, you'll see your available Competitive Points by clicking the i symbol.

How to Use Competitive Points

Golden gun purchase
At present, the only item that can be bought with Competitive Points are the Golden Guns of each hero. Each Golden Gun is a cosmetic that changes the skin of the gun. Each Golden Gun costs 3,000 CP meaning players will not only need to rank up, but also play multiple matches to grind and earn for them.

Items that can be bought with Competitive Points will have the red credit symbol.
