Colosseo Description

Colosseo is a Push map located in Rome, Italy. In this map, each team has to push their barricades around the gladiatorial Roman Colosseum, passing through museum halls, city streets, and Italian cafés.

Colosseo Tips and Strategies

Memorize Health Pack Placements

Health Packs in Colosseo are often tucked behind walls and corners and placed inside the map's numerous buildings. We recommend memorizing Colosseo's Health Pack locations to help improve you and your team's survivability on the map.

Take Advantage of Verticality

Colosseo features short walls and buildings and a high vertical skybox. Take advantage of these characteristics by using Heroes like Pharah, Echo, and Winston to maneuver past low-rise obstacles and flank your opponents from unexpected angles!

Be Mindful of the Checkpoints' Pitfalls

There are large pitfalls past the first checkpoints on each side of Colosseo, which teams must pass by as they push the barricade up the winding path.

Be mindful of your positioning while moving through these locations, as abilities like Pharah's Concussive Blast and Lúcio's Soundwave can easily knock you off the map.

Team Explanation

This team composition uses Colosseo's high verticality, ample flanking routes, and narrow pathways to its strength.

Orisa acts as the frontline Tank for the team, spearheading pushes toward objectives and soaking most of the enemy team's damage. Her abilities are also well-suited for Colosseo's environment, with Energy Javelin and Terra Surge being potent in the map's narrow streets and Javelin Spin excelling at breaking enemy formations and singling out vital targets.
Pharah and Mercy form the frontline damage-dealing duo of the team, taking advantage of Colosseo's high verticality by bombarding foes from multiple angles in the air. Pharah can take to the skies and leap over buildings with Jump Jet, with Mercy following and supporting her with Caduceus Staff and Guardian Angel. In addition, the tight entryways and streets of Colosseo also synergize well with Pharah's Rocket Launcher and Barrage, letting her maximize her splash damage and overall damage output.
Genji is the flanking Damage hero of the team, maneuvering Colosseo's numerous flanking routes with Cyber-Agility to quickly reach the enemy team's backline. Dragonblade and Swift Strike are also potent skills in Colosseo, as teams are often tightly packed along the map's narrow streets and choke points.
Ana is the secondary Support for the team, offering plenty of utility and additional burst healing for her allies. With Colosseo's long sightlines, she can efficiently use her Biotic Rifle to heal allies and damage foes from afar. Ana also has strong supportive tools in Biotic Grenade and Sleep Dart, with the former being significantly effective around Colosseo's choke points. Lastly, Ana's Nano Boost is incredibly potent in this team composition as it synergizes well with Pharah and Genji and because its damage boost stacks with Mercy's Caduceus Staff.

Alternative Tanks

Reinhardt: Reinhardt works well as an alternative Tank in Colosseo. His Barrier Shield excels at covering his team in the map's narrow pathways as they push toward or defend barricades. With foes more likely to clump up around choke points and straight roads, Fire Strike, Charge, and Earthshatter are also incredibly potent on Colosseo.
Roadhog: Roadhog is a great aggressive Tank in Colosseo. His Chain Hook and Scrap Gun allow him to quickly pick off vital enemy targets, giving his team a numbers advantage on most engagements. In addition, his Whole Hog is incredibly effective for pushing away and cornering foes in Colosseo's cramped roads and paths.
Sigma: Like Reinhardt, Sigma can efficiently cover his team in narrow pathways with his mobile Experimental Barrier and Kinetic Grasp. Accretion and Gravitic Flux are also powerful disruptive abilities when used along choke points and cramped spaces.
Zarya: Zarya is another strong tank pick for Colosseo. Her Particle Cannon, when empowered by her Projected and Particle Barriers, makes short work of foes along Colosseo's narrow streets. Pair her and her teammates' attacks and abilities with Graviton Surge to quickly burst down groups of enemies around choke points and barricades.

Alternative Damage

Sojourn: Sojourn can work in place of Pharah as the team's frontline Damage Hero. Like Pharah, she can take advantage of Colosseo's verticality and flanking routes with her Power Slide's high jumps. Her Railgun and Disruptor Shot are also potent when dealing with foes in the map's tight streets and entryways.
Tracer and Sombra: Both Sombra and Tracer can replace Genji's flanking role due to their excellent mobility. Tracer offers more burst damage with her Pulse Pistols and Pulse Bomb, while Sombra provides more utility with Hack and EMP.
Widowmaker: Widowmaker is another potent alternative Damage hero for Colosseo. She synergizes incredibly well with the map's long sightlines and high vantage points. She can pick off crucial enemy targets from afar with Widow's Kiss while providing vital enemy information with Infra-Sight.

Alternative Supports

Lúcio: Lúcio is a solid alternative Support in all Push maps due to the amount of utility he brings. His Speed Boost and Amp It Up are generally powerful abilities in Push as they allow his team to reach and secure objectives before the enemy team arrives. Soundwave is also a strong tool for pushing foes away from barricades and singling out crucial targets. Lastly, Sound Barrier grants a massive temporary health boost to Lúcio and his allies, improving their survivability when pushing and defending.
Brigitte: Brigitte is another great alternative Support as the tight spaces of Colosseo make it easier for her to maintain her offense and Inspire activations. Rally is also a strong ultimate for pushing and defending barricades, allowing Brigitte to move around faster while providing temporary health to her allies. In addition, Whip Shot and Shield Bash are great for controlling space and keeping foes away from her and her vulnerable allies.
