How to Play and Tips

Primary Fire Has Damage Falloff

While Peacekeeper has no bullet spread, it does significantly decrease damage in over long distances. Stick to fighting in close and medium ranges as Cassidy to maximize his Peacekeeper's damage output.

Only Use Secondary Fire Up Close

Peacekeeper's secondary fire has significant bullet spread, making it only worth using in close-range engagements. Only use this firing mode to quickly burst down nearby foes, and ensure you have enough ammo in your Peacekeeper to kill before using it.

Combat Roll Tips

Use Combat Roll Wisely

Combat Roll has a 6-second cooldown and is Cassidy's only mobility skill. Ensure that you have allies or cover to fall back on when using Combat Roll aggressively, and don't hesitate to use it to safely disengage from combat in emergencies.

Combat Roll Works Midair

Cassidy can use his Combat Roll midair, which allows him to escape from abilities with vertical knockback and access shortcuts and vantage points he normally wouldn't be able to reach.

Mitigate Damage with Combat Roll

Combat Roll has 50% damage reduction while active, allowing Cassidy to shrug off high-damage abilities when timed correctly. Use Combat Roll to mitigate damage and potentially survive deadly ultimates like Tracer's Pulse Bomb.

Stick Magnetic Grenade Onto Foes

Cassidy's Magnetic Grenade deals an inadequate amount of damage unless it latches onto an enemy. Treat Magnetic Grenade as a burst damage option in close and midrange firefights and avoid using it as an area of effect ability.

Deadeye Tips

Be Wary of Crowd Control Abilities

Since Deadeye is a channeled ultimate, it can be interrupted by crowd control abilities like Ana's Sleep Dart and Roadhog's Hook. Take note of the enemy team's composition and ability cooldowns before using Deadeye to prevent foes from disrupting it.

Ensure Line of Sight When Using Deadeye

Deadeye only targets foes and deals damage if there are no solid walls or barriers between you and them. Make sure that enemies can't easily retreat or hide behind cover before activating Deadeye to avoid minimizing its impact.

Use Deadeye from Unexpected Angles

Deadeye has a significant sound cue that your foes can easily hear and react to. Avoid being intercepted or quickly shot down when channeling Deadeye by repositioning to different and unexpected attack angles before using Cassidy's ultimate.

How to Counter

Deflect His Bullets or Disrupt His Ultimate

Cassidy is a hitscan damage dealer whose bullets can be deflected by Genji. In an open space his ultimate ability is very deadly but can easily be shut down by Reinhardt's shields. Orisa can also disrupt Cassidy's ultimate using her Javelin as well as by using Ana's sleep dart.

Winston can also easily reach Cassidy by jumping towards him.

Cassidy Story

Cole Cassidy

New Overwatch Cassidy
Cassidy has his own sense of justice and doles it out in spades as he pleases. Though he has many enemies and is highly sought after, he will only fight for what he believes is right.

Fateful Encounter with Ashe

Ashe and Cassidy Overwatch 2
At some point during his youth, Cassidy was put in a neighbouring prison cell to Ashe. He said that it was a misunderstanding that led to his arrest and he had stepped in to help his friend and stop a skirmish. Their similar age and circumstances resonated with each other.

The Deadlock Gang

Cassidy Story 1 Overwatch 2
Cassidy was a founding member of the Deadlock Gang along with Ashe. Their gang quickly grew to great heights, succeeding in a number of heists across the American Southwest.
Their success drew the attention and adversary of many rival gangs, which led to multiple skirmishes and diminished success in their activities. Thanks to Ashes inept business intellect they soon overcame this and formed a peaceful alliance with the neighboring gangs.

Overwatch

Cassidy Story 2 Overwatch 2
At a certain point this gunslinging outlaw was taken by Overwatch. With his skills and prowess with his Peacekeeper Revolver, Cassidy was offered a chance to work with Overwatch's covert ops.

The New Overwatch

New Overwatch Cassidy
After Overwatch fell, Cassidy set off alone. This wouldn't last long however. After a reunion with his former Overwatch leader Ana, he was convinced to become the leader of a new Overwatch team. He then set out to recruit talented individuals to join his new team. These members include Pharah, Bastion, Zarya and D.Va.
