Overwatch 2 - Free Cursed Captain Reaper Legendary Skin Banner
Due to the server issues, bugs and other errors that have been afflicting Overwatch 2 since its launch day, Blizzard announced all players will be compensated. Read on to find out about the compensation bonuses such as the Cursed Reaper Legendary Skin, Health Pack Weapon Charm and 2x Match XP.

Blizzard Announces Compensation to Players

Free Legendary Skin, Weapon Charm, and Double XP Weekends

Blizzard took to twitter on October 11 to announce a host of bonuses for all players, as an apology for the host of server issues, gameplay bugs and various errors that have hampered Overwatch 2 since launch. In the tweet Blizzard formally apologised for the bumpy launch and reffirmed their commitment to smoothing out the server issues and bugs.

Cursed Captain Reaper Legendary Skin

Cursed Captain Reaper Legendary Skin Overwatch 2

All Players will receive Reaper's Cursed Captain legendary skin, as pictured above, for free. This is great value as the average price of legendary skins so far is 2000 Overwatch coins, the equivalent of $20 USD. It is also nice timing, right as Overwatch 2's Halloween Terror 2022 Event begins.

Health Pack Weapon Charm

Players will also receive a Health Pack Weapon Charm. This is a charm which can be equipped to any hero's weapon via the Heroes Menu. While it is purely a cosmetic item (it doesn't actually restore your health!), its resemblance to the health packs you can find scattered across Overwatch 2's maps is quirky and fun.

2x Match XP Weekends

Blizzard also announced there will be a series of weekends where all players receive double match xp for wins. This should help to make up for lost time for players who were unable to access the servers or merge their accounts for a lengthy period.

How To Get the Free Cursed Captain Reaper Skin and Health Pack Weapon Charm

Log in to Overwatch 2 Between October 25 and the End of Season 1!

All players who log in and play Overwatch 2 between October 25 and the end of Season 1 will receive these goodies automatically. At this stage, no other requirements have been set out, so simply logging in should be enough (no need to play or win any competitive matches).
