The highly anticipated Overwatch 2 was released not without its fair share of bugs and glitches. This is our list of all the bugs and glitches currently occurring in the game and how to fix them!

So far the servers are experiencing the greatest number of issues with the high volume of traffic. However, there are also a host of gameplay bugs being reported by players and acknowledged by Blizzard through their official twitter account and known issues forum.

Server Issues

Unexpected Server Error

Some players who merged their console and PC Overwatch 2 accounts are unable to enter the game and after a long wait period are instead receiving the error message 'unexpected server error'. There are also reports from some PC players who have not merged accounts experiencing this same issue.

Long Wait Times

While the average wait time to access the game at launch so far has been 30-45 minutes, some players were still unable to access Overwatch 2 more than 3 hours after launch. One fix for now is trying a different region. The North American region appears to be the most heavily congested. Blizzard have stated in their Known Issues Forum that they are working to alleviate the issue through the implementation of additional nodes.

Server Disconnects

Blizzard reports in their known issues forum that some players are experiencing sudden, random server disconnects.

Number of Players Waiting in Queue Keeps Fluctuating

Many players have been reporting wild fluctuations in queue numbers from the 10's of thousands, to zero, back into the 10's of thousands again. Blizzard explained in their latest bug report update that this is due to there being 2 queues, a client side queue and an in game queue which normally isn't visible. This issue has apparently been resolved now.

LC- 208 Error

According to Blizzard's Official Bug Report, this is a console oriented, network related issue. They reccommend disconnecting and reconnecting your battle.net account from your console, as well as resetting your modem to clear the data cache. Many players are still having issues however, despite following these steps, suggesting a server side issue.

This is also a network related error. It may be worth changing the region setting to a different region by selecting the globe icon next to the play button in the battle.net launcher.

SMS Protection Issues

Some players who have their phone number already registered to another account previously are being left with the server in an unusable state. Blizzard reccommends players who encounter this issue close the title, login to the affected battle.net account, and change the phone number to one not currently attached to any account. Additionally, in their latest bug report update, Blizzard have stated all existing players with battle.net accounts will no longer need to use SMS Protection from October 7.

Gameplay Bugs

Rubber Banding

Some players have been reporting issues with other players' movement and positioning. As seen in the video above, they zoom past the player and their positioning is erratic, creating a less than ideal gameplay experience. This generally occurs when players are experiencing low bandwidth or poor network connection.

In Blizzard's most recent Developer Blog they addressed this issue and said they are working on a fix.

Certain Cosmetics, Items and In-Game Currency are not Showing as Available

Cosmetics, items and in-game currency that were previously purchased in-game are not showing as available for some players. A notable exclusion is the new Genji "Happi" legendary skin, which was purchasable during the Summer Showdown Event earlier this year. Blizzard has since updated in their Official Bug Report that for half of players, this can be resolved by manually merging their accounts. Also in all cases, the missing items are stated to be not permanently deleted, but rather temporarily unavailable.

Characters Locked

Many players have reported that almost half of their characters have been locked. These are all characters that were previously unlocked and usable. Blizzard has explained that this is similar to the skins and currency unavailable bug above. For most players manually merging their accounts, or logging out and back in again should resolve this issue. Others will have to wait for the data to eventually transfer over from the client.

Bronze 5 Bug (Fixed)

Unfortunately for some players it would appear no matter how many games they win, they are failing to rank up. There are accounts of players winning 7 games in a row in a group with friends and one of them being left behind on Bronze 5 while the others progress to Platinum, putting them out of reach for future group competitive games.

This was a server issue according to Blizzard, where the server that tracks player progression was failing for some accounts. According to Blizzards most recent developer blog this has now been patched.

Floaty Aim Assist Bug

This is a bug where controller aim assist settings are leaking over and affecting PC mouse and keyboard players. Blizzard reports that this is not the case, despite several player reports indicating to the contrary. They did recognize one specific instance related to Junker Queen where this may be the case however.

PC Input Response Lag

Players have reported lack of responsiveness and input lag when playing on PC. In their latest Delopers Blog, Blizzard reccommended the following settings for PC users.

• Match the in-game resolution to your monitor’s set resolution.
• Set the capped frame rate to your monitor’s maximum frame rate.
• For those with NVidia graphics cards, turn on NVidia Reflex + Boost.
• For those without Nvidia graphics cards, turn on Reduced Buffering.
• In the gameplay options, turn on Enable High Precision Mouse Input. This will increase the frequency of mouse capture position checks in-game.

Visual Bug Upon Use of the ALT + TAB Function

Pressing Alt + Tab during fullscreen or windowed borderless is resulting in a black screen for some players.

Highlights Camera Misplacement (Fixed)

When viewing highlights the camera may be fixed in the wrong position. This has been resolved in the latest patch.

Workshop Green Screen and Workshop Island Issues (Fixed)

Currently both Workshop Green Screen and Workshop Island are loading the wrong maps. In Blizzard's latest patch notes they note tat this bug has been fixed.

Certain Maps Currently Unavailable (Fixed)

Illios CTF, and Temple of Anubis are temporarily disabled, indicating issues with them currently. Numbani and Necropolis were recently readded following the most recent patch.

Echo Playing the Wrong Lines

In non-English language modes, Echo is playing Kiriko, Sojourn, and Junker Queen Ultimate lines instead.

Total Mayhem's Hero Unlock Challenges Failing to Progress (Fixed)

Some Players have reported that even after achieving the required objectives in Total Mayhem, the Hero Unlock Challenges are frozen and not progressing. This has now been patched.

Match History and Replays Not Appearing

Despite completing matches, the Match History and Replays section in Career Profile is appearing blank for some users.

Hero Bugs

Bastion's Configuration Artillery Ultimate Exploit

Bastion was affected by a bug which allowed it to launch unlimited artillery strikes during the period that its Configuration Artillery Ultimate was active. This was making it near impossible to escape for opponents, giving Bastion players an unfair advantage.

Due to the severity of the bug, Blizzard decided to remove Bastion from regular quick play matches as well as competitive matches while they resolve the issue.

Torbjörn's Overload Ability Exploit

Torbjörn had a bug which allowed the use of his Overload ability twice in one charge. This gave him +100 HP and +30% speed for 10 seconds, instead of the intended 5 seconds. This was giving Torbjörn much more durability and speed than the developers intended, causing balancing issues.

Due to this bug exploit, Torbjörn has been temporarily removed from competitive mode until the issue is resolved.

Most of the time, glitches and bugs are caused by development issues and not by anything on your end. Stay updated on official game announcements to know when issues will be resolved and to receive official advice on what you can do about issues you are currently experiencing.

Blizzard have responded to the plethora of issues currently affecting players through their official Twitter and Known Issues Bug Report. They detail many of the issues covered in this article, their causes and potential resolutions.

Ensure Your Accounts are Merged Properly

As there is an issue with automatic account merge failing for many players, one potential fix is to manually merge your accounts. Here are the steps to merge your battle.net and console accounts:

1	Open and login to Overwatch from your console.
2	Several prompts will pop up on the screen. Follow them to generate a QR code and scan it with your mobile phone.
3	Enter the code displayed on your console after scanning to create or link your console account to the Battle.net account of your choice.
4	After connecting to your Battle.net account, log into Overwatch once again to confirm and merge your accounts.

Make Sure Internet Connection is Stable

If you are experiencing issues with multiplayer or downloading content, there is a possiblity that the issue may be caused by Internet Connection issues on your end. Make sure to check if you have stable Internet Connection.

Restart the Application

If all other options have been completed and you still cannot access Saints Row, we recommend you restart the application. This has proved effective for some players, while it may require you to repeat this method multiple times until you can get in.

Restart Your Device

If restarting the app does not fix the glitch, try restarting your PC or console. Restarting your device may be all your application needs to reset active bugs or glitches and improve its performance.

Update Your Operating System

If your console or PC is not currently on the latest version of its OS, you might experience more issues than other players, as game developers typically test their games with the latest versions of the available platforms. A quick Software Update might be just what your system needs.

Update Your Video Card Driver

If you are playing on PC, your video card driver can be a common source of errors. Check if there are any updates available for your video card driver and try updating to see if it resolves your problem.
