Ana's redesign for Overwatch 2 gives her a fresh new coat, a new eyepatch, more tactical-looking gloves, and a better legwear overall. It is also worth noting that her coat no longer has any holes, while the stock, muzzle, and casing of her rifle are also given a noticeable upgrade in its finish.

Effect: Increases an ally's damage, while reducing damage taken.

Tips and How to Play

Biotic Rifle Cannot Critically Hit

Aiming for headshots is completely inefficient as Ana since her Biotic Rifle can't land critical hits. We recommend landing body shots on foes and allies as it is easier and more effective.

Use Biotic Grenade Sparingly

Biotic Grenade is an incredibly versatile skill in Ana's arsenal, but you should only use it sparingly due to its long 10-second cooldown. Prioritize using it to prevent foes from healing and keeping your team alive, and only use it for self-healing as a last resort.

Save Sleep Dart for Dangerous Situations

Sleep Dart has a substantial 15-second cooldown, meaning that it should be primarily used to nullify dangerous attacks and foes such as Genji's Dragonblade mode and Roadhog's Wild Hog ultimate.

Sleeping Enemies Have a Wake-Up Animation

Enemies affected by Sleep Dart perform and get locked in a wake-up animation if their sleep does not get interrupted. Coordinate with your team to take advantage of this animation and instantly take down sleeping targets.

Ana Can Solo Kill Sleeping Enemies

If given the opportunity, Ana can eliminate sleeping enemies by herself. Sleep Dart's wake-up animation gives her enough time to instantly eliminate enemies under 250 health. To do this, listen for the end of the wake-up animation's sound queue, then perform the following combo:

Biotic Rifle (Primary Fire) > Biotic Grenade > Biotic Rifle (Primary Fire) > Quick Melee

Be Wary of Sigma, D.Va, and Orisa

Sigma's Kinetic Grasp, D.Va's Defense Matrix, and Orisa's Javelin Spin can absorb your Sleep Darts and Biotic Grenades, so be mindful of using these abilities when fighting against these heroes.

Amplify Ultimate Effectiveness With Nano Boost

Coordinate with your teammates and use Nano Boost's damage increase and damage reduction to boost the effectiveness of their ultimates. Some notable ultimates that pair well with Nano Boost include Genji's Dragonblade and Reaper's Death Blossom.

How to Counter

Flank Ana

As Ana needs to hit teammates to heal them, the easiest way to counter Ana is to keep harassing her with flanking Damage heroes like Reaper or Tracer. Leaping towards her as Winston can also be an easy way to kill her.

Players can make her ultimate ineffective by putting her target to sleep using their own team's Ana or freezing them using Mei's ultimate.

Ana Story

One of the Founders of Overwatch

Lauded as one of the most elite snipers in the world, Ana protected Egypt from the Omnic crisis before she helped found Overwatch. She served even in her fifties until an encounter with Widowmaker left others to believe she was dead. Instead, she lost an eye and chose to sit away from the fight.

Back in the Fight

With may innocents in danger as well as the rising threat of both Null Sector and Talon, she came out of hiding to serve once more.
